TITLE:               PROJECT MANAGER

NW Natural WA Effort

REPORTS TO:          MANAGER OF PLANNING AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

BACKGROUND

Energy Trust of Oregon, Inc., is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to energy efficiency and renewable energy development.  We serve Oregon customers of Portland General Electric, Pacific Power, NW Natural and Cascade Natural Gas.

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY

This temporary position provides design, development, implementation and ongoing management support for Energy Trust residential and commercial program activities in NW Natural Washington state service territory.  The project manager will lead or work in multiple teams providing coordination and technical and implementation support for commercial and residential market initiatives and programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Project manage and coordinate energy efficiency implementation activities with NW Natural.

·         Perform liaison role between Energy Trust staff and NW Natural and Washington stakeholders including regulatory agencies.

·         Coordinate contracting process. This includes working with Energy Trust contract and program management staff to revise PMC contracts and execution of funding agreement with NW Natural.

·         Monitor Washington effort expenditures across programs to ensure budget compliance.

·         Coordinate with sector managers, program management contractors, and marketing staff to modify various program forms, marketing pieces, and correspondences.

·         Under sector manager direction, work with program management contractors and program allies to facilitate the delivery of Energy Trust programs and initiatives in NW Natural Washington service territory.

·         Performs all functions of the job in a safe and conscientious manner

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

Position may supervise administrative support position.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word software applications.  Ability to build spreadsheet models to best manage programs.
  • Strong analytical and internet research skills.
  • Experience working on multiple team-based initiatives.
  • Experience in all phases of managing contracts, from internal approval of funding, writing scopes of work, soliciting bids, negotiating and finalizing contracts, to managing the execution of the contract. 
  • Experience developing processes, and leading cross functional teams.
  • Minimum of Bachelors degree and five years experience in technical engineering field or project management with emphasis on energy efficiency.

POSITION SUMMARY
Join a high-powered team of energy efficiency and marketing experts who will be working with electric utilities and targeted consumer sectors to develop and implement new ways to leverage technology, reduce consumption, shape electric usage patterns, bring new products to market, and implement conservation practices to slow the need for new electric generation, reduce demand on the transmission grid and benefit the environment.
As a member of a cross-functional team composed of engineers, planners, energy use experts, and marketing professionals, your major task will be to develop, package, and implement annual consumer sector strategies and program implementation action plans for acquiring electric energy savings. Incumbent will design incentive structures, to promote the use of improved technologies and operating practices to reduced electric energy consumption. You will conduct market research to identify stakeholder needs and interests, the availability and practicality of incorporating state-of-the-art technology into energy consumption practices, analyze and promulgate current best practices in electric energy conservation. In performing the work, you will lead interdisciplinary teams of subject-matter experts, program planners and program implementation managers. You will, work directly with utility partners and other program stakeholders, and collaborate closely with experts in regional and national forums. You will serve as the organization’s representative for sector strategies, programs, activities, and initiatives and deliver periodic reports and presentations to BPA Power, Transmission, and Constituent Account Executives, and subject-matter experts in other business units on program initiatives and progress toward achieving sector goals, objectives, and targets.

You must have one year of specialized experience at a level close to the work of this job that has given you the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform. Typically we would find this experience in work within this field or a field that is closely related
