Vidder Notes:  The Hollow Crown (BBC) for me, was a highlight of 2012 - even with the awesome Olympics going on in the country. I just lament that there were not accessible productions like this around when I was at school or I might have loved Shakespeare more, or at least turned up for the lessons.  If you've not seen it I would recommend it. The Henriad plays including Richard II with Ben Whishaw which I do not feature in this vid,  but is a thing of beauty.    It has been the production that has rekindled my love/ interest for Shakespeare - and helped the following year by Whedon's Much Ado. Now I feel I want to see ALL THE PLAYS. It's a mission.     I wanted to use Hal's speech I refer to above (in part) in the vid, but they stuck music on it and I don't have the skills or patience to try and extract just the dialogue. I also wanted to avoid the vid being a string of famous speeches set over generic film music.I know much of the power of Shakespeare is the prose,  but the story here is interesting and is wonderfully portrayed by Tom Hiddleston, Simon Russell Beale and Jeremy Irons amongst a stellar cast.   The song is by Woodkid (who  is French - irony I know) and the vocals are heavily accented, in parts a little difficult to follow. It was the tone & pace of the music however, rather than those lyrics that felt appropriate for the Hollow Crown.
