Independent Spirit awards
Yayness! I have been waiting for a couple of months now for the Independent Spirit Awards--or as I like to call them, "I worked my butt off and all I got was this statue and a kiss from Sara Silverman" awards. No, seriously, I DO enjoy this award show because it's less contrived and a lot more raunchy. The amazing talent all of the people possess astounds me, and I love watching them being acknowledged. I laughed so ruttin' hard every time Sara Silverman opened her dirty mouth! Ah, that woman...who let her out of her cell? A lot of people know right off the top of the bat who she is...if they watch Comedy Central, that is. I have seen some of these movies, loving some of them and admiring the others. But, alas, I live in the middle of Texas, where independent, alternative entertainment/movies and off-beat ideas are usually absent. That just means I'll be going out and purchasing the best ones when they come out. I am always rooting for Felicity Huffman...because she is awesomely committed to doing in-depth performances. *Who LOVED her speech? IT WAS GREAT!* I think everyone this year had something to be proud of...whether or not they were recognized. But, for the love of cheese, why was Vin Deasel let in there? The man was so painfully stupid!! Eh, besides that, it was great! BTY, weren't the feature songs genius? Again, the only thing I can rant about(and believe me, I sure did...sitting here all by my lonesome, yelling at the tv and scaring my poor dogs)is the fact that Zooey Deschanel is still getting more nods business-wise than Emily. That's crap. Personally, Em is four thousand times more amazing and captivating! My sister actually calls Zooey 'Skeletor', which I find kind of ironic. Bleh.
