Silence reigned as they strolled the empty, dimly-lit streets. The stars were all out that night doing their twinkly works of wonders.
He glanced at his side, noting the guy walking beside him. Tall. Intelligent. Drop-dead gorgeous.
"Thanks for taking me to the dance, Yabu-kun. I had a wonderful time."
His heart skipped a beat as the said guy was now looking at him, lips forming a small smile, "Thank you as well. I enjoyed it."
Silence...
He didn't think it would be that... awkward. Well, it wouldn't, would it? What was awkward about it? Two friends walking home sounded so normal you wouldn't be interested to hear any details.
But then again, it is so because he l-l-li-like-- "Why did you you ask me anyway?"
He panicked witnessing his confused-stricken face, "I-I m-mean... Yabu-kun doesn't really attend school dances, does he?"
He stopped on his tracks, an amused grin etched on his face, "Because Inoo Kei," The older boy's hand reached for his, his gentle hands warming his cold ones,
"I'd get the chance to hold your hand."

Inoo stifled a laugh, "Going through all the trouble just for that?" And he didn't notice his hold on him.
Yabu leaned closer, "Is there a problem with that?"
"N-nothing," He averted his gaze to the opposite direction, missing the tinge of red that spread his cheeks.
"Besides," He gently pulled the younger to face him, "I really like you."
