See, that statement is thought out and makes alot more sense. Why can't the media say things like that?
I just really dislike when the meida says America's screwed, we're falling behind everyone else, basically were getting dumber as oter countries get smarter. Now, of course we have some terrible problems in many of our public educational systems, especially when concerning the impovershied and inner cities like parts of Detroit. But America's student population and how our schools are set up is drastically different than many other countries, one of the biggest differences being we don't isolate academically smarter kids from those who are probably better suited for something else, yet we give them a longer time to pick their path than 8th grade or force it upon them by making them take a test to determine where their future will lie. We have our problems, but we still can get damn good educations and have one thing many other school systems around the world don't: A diverse student population with numerous oppertunities open to all who apply themselves.
Also, I can't wait for the day the majority of the country is happy with what the Federal government is doing again. Go Barack!
Agreed. 100%. We may not be affiliated with the same politcal party but its nice to know that we can see eye to eye on education. It's a non-partisan issue that has become deeply partisan.
