Well, after tonight, I fully expect 08 to come down to tonight's winners
Obama v HuckabeeAlthough the democratic caucus in Iowa was really close, I'm just pulling for Obama, though I expect Edwards to win New Hampshire and Hillary to basically be screwed unless the convention wants her nominated ( Read more... )

First off-- I fully appreciate that you've taken the liberty to update on the Iowa caucus. I was going to write my own schpeal but you touched on everything I would've said anyways.

This may sound VERY counter intuitive--- but as a strategy.. putting this Huckabee guy as the republican nomination will be INCREDIBLY beneficial to the democrats. the man is FAR to extreme and as we have seen with his outlandish statements on Bhuttos assasination in relation to his pro-fence stance... how he laughed about not murdering someone on cspan the other day for disagreeing with him on the iraq war.. this man cannot act under pressure. I wouldn't worry, information about Huckabee is going to come to the light and things will be exposed that will be very damaging to his campaign.
This hopefully, will happen after the nomination.
If, hypothetically it does become a obama v. huckabee showdown, during one of the several presidential debates, we will see that major differences between both personalities.
My prediction is that the public will be FAR more attracted to Obama than they would Huckabee.
Not to mention, the media has already scrutinized Huckabee for his intense passion in the judeao-evangelical christian world.
In the end, the media will come out to support obama. I can feel it in my bones.

:)

I'm so happy that you support Obama. I'm so happy. SO HAPPY. I think I may have left you a facebook comment expressing that.

P.S.
because all of the legitimate democratic candidates dropped out of the Michigan Primary race, leaving us with Richardson, Kucinich & Clinton... I think that many democrats cynical about Clinton are going to stick it to herand vote for a republican-without-a-chance candidate.
For instance, my dad has become a trader and decided to give in to the wasted vote syndrom and is planning on voting Ron Paul in the upcoming weeks. I'm trying to get him to change, but I can only do so much.

For all I know, we should be mad at Edwards and Obama for dropping out and neglecting Michigan. I still love Obama to death, but we're being ignored and they arent campaigning. Instead, they are sending their wives over here to rally up some people. It's kind of lame, but what can you expect.. our legislature screwed us over big time by declaring our decision to bump up the primary's unconstitutional. Lameeeee

Also, I admire you SO much for making the switch. I really don't see Obama as a partisan candidate. Sure he affiliates with the Democrats, but I think he is more concerned about uniting the country as one. He is bringing a new kind of politics that America has never seen before. Thank you. I don't know if I should be thanking you? but it feels semi-appropriate
