Mio could see how everything was starting to wear on Zetsu and she desperately wished she could think of a way to console the plant man. Even with it taking it's own toll on her, she hated to see him so upset, but was having a hard time thinking of how to do comfort him. She was happy enough to go see Jonouchi, though. It'd been some time she she'd seen him and given the kidnappings and other disappearances that had occurred over time...well, it worried her. She stuck close to the plant man, staring up at him as he knocked on the door and opened the door.

Indeed, she hadn't expected to see a black dragon of all things, unconsciously moving closer to Zetsu and grasping her camera as she took in the rather confusing and startling sight.

Zetsu drew back, for a moment almost ready to slam the door shut on the monstrous beast and look elsewhere. But something caught his eye in the movements, how.... repetitive they seemed. Staring for a moment seemed to confirm this, and his eyes brightened momentarily, probing the beast to see the truth; he sighed in something like relief. "It's an illusion." He confirmed for Mio's sake, now stepping into the room without hesitation; weaker illusions held no power over you once you stopped believing in them, after all, and this one didn't seem particularly sophisticated ( ... )

"An illusion?" She repeated quietly, hesitating for a moment before following him in. Mio herself wasn't well informed about such things, but she trusted Zetsu's judgment enough to follow him in even as he started to walk through the dragon, watching as Zetsu removed and replaced the card, jumping a little as the dragon disappeared quite suddenly before letting her attention to be drawn to the cards laying on the floor and then back up to Zetsu as he spoke ( ... )

Zetsu nodded, holding up the duel disk and card. "On his world, people use these," he moved the duel disk, "to play card games. Apparently, they project illusions of whatever card is put onto them to make the game more exciting." He remembered the Alligator Sword card Jonouchi had shown him, the first time he had demonstrated the use of his duel disk; it had been impressive ( ... )

"Oh..." Mio gave a nod to signify her understanding his explanation, at least at face value. The concept was out of her range experience, enough so to seem strange and even a little silly, but at the same time she didn't think of herself fit to judge. She must have noticed his look, because although she was silent, she offered him a pat on the back. He was right about the fact that most monsters would have left blood and as far as she knew there hadn't been anything but the headless chestmouth monsters and the creepy wallcrawlers, but then it also occurred to her that the house made a habit of keeping itself clean ( ... )
