As he was set onto the floor, Jonouchi finally opened his eyes. That was his first mistake. The light in the room was bright, almost blindingly so. Blinking and trying to shield his eyes with his hands, he waited until he could finally take in his new surroundings. The things that had brought him there were nowhere to be found. There wasn't much of anything to be found. A toilet, a sink, and a giant mirror. A second scan of the room revealed a door, and he felt his spirits rise. Things were looking up! He'd bust out, then go and bust his friends out, and they'd all make their way out together! It was the perfect plan, and Jonouchi felt himself smiling as he got to his feet. Still a little numb and disoriented, he almost immediately fell back down onto his butt. He wasn't happy about it, but it seemed he'd have to give his body a little time to recover before engineering his escape. He wouldn't be able to help out his friends if he wasn't at his best, and he wouldn't be anywhere near that if he didn't get some rest. He shut his eyes, but the lights were annoyingly bright. Even with his arms draped over his face, it was still next to impossible to sleep. Still, he managed to get a little rest, and when he awoke, he felt more or less ready to roll.

There was no doubt the door would be locked, so the only answer was to break it down. Bending down, he squared his shoulders and charged straight at the door. His footsteps echoed across the room as he ran, as did his stream of swears when he bounced off the door and back onto his butt. He hadn't felt it budge or give an inch, and all he had to show for it was one hell of a shoulder ache. He slowly got back to his feet and began to make his way around the room, looking for another way out. It was a slim hope, and thanks to his time in the house, he wasn't surprised when his search came up empty. He slumped against one of the walls and tried to figure out his options. They didn't look good. He was stuck, his friends were stuck, and there wasn't a damn thing he could do about it. Despair soon gave way to anger, and he was once again on his feet, pacing about the room. He punched the mirror, kicked the wall, charged the door again. They were all poor substitutes for giving one of those bastards a good punch.

"HEY, ASSHOLES! I'M GONNA GET OUT OF HERE, AND ONCE I BUST MY FRIENDS OUT I'M GONNA COME AND KICK YOUR ASSES! JUST YOU WAIT, DAMNIT!"

Of course, neither happened, and as days passed (at least, it felt like days. Here more than ever, he had no sense of the passage of time), he found himself trying to do anything to keep his sanity. The bright lights and hard floor made getting much sleep impossible, and the blond found his body wracked by fatigue. By some miracle he wasn't starving (strange, considering he didn't have anything to eat), but he didn't argue it. Instead he put his body through its paces. Push-ups, sit-ups, laps around the room. He went over his chakra and hand seal exercises, but could never stay with them for too long. They reminded him of Zetsu, of his friends, of everyone that wasn't there. His anger would give way to anxiety, and he would spend hours hunched against the wall, wracked with worry about his friends. Were Saya and Alphonse okay? What about Zetsu and Mio? Machi? Were they getting along without him? Staying away from monsters? He was especially worried about Saya and Alphonse. What kind of torture were they being put through? Had they been cut open too? Had they managed to escape? Worse than the questions was not kowing the answers. Wracked with guilt and fear for his friends, Jonouchi would worry himself to sleep, for what little sleep he could get. Then the duelist would wake up and repeat the process all over again.

It was a long first week.
