(
He had apparently spent way too much time in hell if that was his automatic assumption for the cause behind a 'bad feeling.' )
When his dark blue eyes finally located the speaker, that feeling of dread only seemed to increase, but he couldn't help but give her a quick scan over. She certainly had an intimidating look to her, didn't she? Maybe intimidating was an understatement and maybe quite a bit more could be said about her, but the fact that she didn't know his name, history, and list of sins right off the bat made him a slight bit more at ease with her presence...very, very, very, slight. The management never had to ask for his name, it was the same every meeting with them, they'd rattle off his full name and a list of every single alias he had taken for himself in the past sixty years.
"Jack." The man provided with a nod and an expression that implied he wasn't happy with his new surroundings, then he looked away from her. Though as himself, he'd never show realistic confusion or worry, as persona number four-hundred-and-fifty-two, both emotions seemed to creep into his voice at once. "Do you...know.. where we.. are right now? And.. Who are you?"

Walking around him to trail fingers along the wall, Rayne gave a dark chuckle. "And this place? This place... This place is a funhouse. There are all kinds of goodies here for me to play with, as long as no one tries to ruin my good time. As long as you can take care of yourself, there's no need to fear at all."

His eyes followed her as she walked, and he resisted the urge to just turn tail and head out of the hallway to find a place a bit less unsettling. "Funhouse? Yeah. This place seems really....... fun." Fun like a glass shard sticking out of your retina, perhaps.

Her iris' suddenly bleeding from green to red, the dhampir pointed her face towards the ceiling, looking at something past it. Slowly, a predatory smile spread across her lips, fangs flashing in the light. "And this place is full of my kind of fun. Blood and violence, and all sorts of playful things." She murmured, before looking back down to Jack, eyes returning to normal. "But perhaps that's just me."

He once again just nodded again at the woman, slowly this time, to keep her from lashing out and thinking he wasn't listening. There was no point in starting a fight when he didn't know her well enough to have a plan, not to mention he didn't have a weapon of his own. Yeah, sure, he was a servant of hell... But he didn't really have much going for him, did he? "Right... Well.. Your type of fun sounds.. great, really. So, are there others around here?" Hopefully there were, and hopefully they wouldn't be quite like her. He only needed so many cryptic women with weapons wandering about in his immediate proximity.

"You know.....I like the normal things, sailing.." Sailing, yeah. He liked sailing about as much as someone forced to do it for an undetermined about of centuries would. "..fishing... " If one wanted to give it that title, one could be so obliged, couldn't they? Sure it wasn't a perfect metaphor, but it was close. "Not.. getting kidnapped... and locked up in strange houses."

"And speaking of strange houses... I do believe I'll go upstairs and see exactly what goodies await me up there." Rayne and heading for the stairs, the trails of her skirt swaying in time with her hips as she called back flirtatiously.
"I'll see you around."

Or not.
Either way, he simply nodded yet again, and once she disappeared up the stairs, his smirk faded and was replaced by an obvious grimace. The hallway still did nothing but make his stomach churn with unease and bile, while the back of his head was still quite sore for the moment. It was expected, though, he had really just recently just taken a pounding. Or had it been recently? How long had he been in the house? He had no way of knowing, of course, and that bothered him greatly. The grim expression remained on his face as he finally stepped away from his current position and toward the nearest exit. It was time to go explore and get some answers, wasn't it?
