Someone new, maybe.
She headed toward the room in question, a bit cautiously, unsure of who or what she was going to see -
The kid had a gun. Rosette's own was out pretty quickly, and she watched him for a minute, ready and uncertain if she should say anything, at first.

DANGER
It was like a bolt of fiery lightning to the back of his brain; that inevitable gut feeling he had when he was in danger, or when something big was about to happen.
He could practically feel the eyes watching him already, and it only took him a moment of discretion to decide which way to face. In an instant he had taken a sudden sharp step to the left, whirling his body around low to the ground to face the opposite direction.
His gun trained on a girl. A girl with a gun. Instincts: 1, Strange House: 0.
"Do not move or your life is forfeit."

Her own gun was completely up in the same instant, trained on the boy in front of her as he spoke, expression serious as she listened...
And then becoming more annoyed than anything else.
"Hey," she snapped, "cool it, will ya?"

"You will answer my questions," he stated in a blank tone, "Do not attempt any form of resistance or I will fire." Yes, he knew she had a gun trained on him too; but to acknowledge that she was a threat verbally would allow her some additional confidence in her position. Speaking as if she didn't have a weapon at all allowed him to seem fully confident that not only would she not be able to shoot him, but that he would be able to hit her without fail.
True? Maybe, maybe not.
"First question. What is this place?"

"Speak for yourself." she muttered, before speaking a little louder. "People listen more if you aren't threatening their lives, you know."
She answered his question, though, regardless. "It's some weird monster house, apparently." she said, still sounding obviously annoyed.

His eyes narrowed just slightly at her words. Her explanation offered him no information. "Elaborate on what you meant when you said 'monster house', miss." His tone, again, was expressionless.
