Jack, in the meantime, had ended up having a morning surprisingly similar to Mio's. He had had his own frightening brushes with mortality, and discovered Sally in a terrible state of disrepair, which he had done his best to help with, despite his misgivings. Things had settled down now, thankfully; at the moment, Jack had headed off to get something to eat. It wasn't the sort of thing he was used to, but Jack was fond enough of novelty to enjoy a sandwich, even if he'd put on some things that probably shouldn't have gone together.

Still, for dessert he had stuck to what he knew best, candy. A nice little plate of wonderful truffles, in fact. Jack smiled as he saw Mio walking in, looking up from the treats to wave at her. "Good afternoon!" She seemed distracted.... He wondered if something was wrong. But what could it be? The girl looked rather deep in thought.

Mio jumped a little at the sound of an unfamiliar voice, she hadn't expected anyone to be in the room, responding before she looking to find the source, "G-good afternoon..." Having said that, she looked to the person who'd made the proclamation, waving a little before becoming somewhat...off put by his appearance. She waved a little before, in her distracted state of mind, a question slipped through her inbred filter, "Do...you know you're a skeleton?"

She almost immediately realized her mistake, cheeks tinting and drawing her camera closer to her chin, a guilty look crossing her face, "A-ah! I-I'm so sorry, that was a rather rude thing to ask..." It really was and although it'd crossed her mind, she hadn't meant to actually voice it. He didn't appear to be one of the monsters and she couldn't sense any malice, so there was really no reason to say such things, especially not to someone you'd just met, but after a moment or two she peered up from her camera, which her eyes had since locked onto, in order to try and ascertain the ( ... )

Jack waved back cheerfully enough, blinking at the question? "Why.... yes!" He laughed, unable to help but be surprised by the question. The skeleton looked at the hand that he'd waved with, as if checking to make sure it really was still bony--it was, of course. "Yes, I do." He grinned, seeming to be amused rather than actually offended. "Oh, it's fine, don't worry!" After all, Yamamoto and Chrome had seemed to think that he was in a costume, so it was a good thing to ask....

Seeing how uncomfortable she looked, Jack leaned to the side, pulling a chair out for her with a theatrical flourish that was half bow, half invitation. "Would you like to sit down, maybe have a bite and a word? These are quite good." He nudged the plate of truffles towards the chair. "Raspberry fudge, caramel, and mint creme." He explained, pointing out the different types. At least nobody could accuse him of having poor tastes when it came to treats....

"A-alright..." That he didn't seem offended, even laughing at her question, was of some relief to Mio. She still felt bad about asking something so insensitive. He certainly seemed less sensitive about what he was than Zetsu or Nana...was being a skeleton normal where he came from? Or...maybe he was a demon like Zetta? Zetta himself looked fairly normal, but he hadn't seem phased by Zetsu's appearance and from her knowledge of demons they were supposed to come in a variety of appearances ( ... )

Jack grinned as she sat, selecting a mint one himself to nibble on. He waited for a bit, at least long enough to let Mio try her snack; it was only polite, after all. And he did try to pride himself on being a gentleman.... "My name is Jack Skellington. It's a pleasure to meet you, miss....?" He offered Mio a hand--if his appearance itself didn't assure her that he really was a skeleton, then a cool, bony handshake almost certainly would. "Have you been here long?" Not the issue that he had been curious about, exactly.... but it was rude to dive straight into such a personal question, even if he was concerned about the young lady.
