There was nothing. No bumps, no bruises, no blood.... Her hair didn't even seem to be all tangled up anymore, and she found herself absurdly glad of that; her hair was murder to take care of at night in this place, what with all the knots it invariably ended up with. Then again, this place was dangerous--why the hell was she worrying about how she looked? It was a stupid, ridiculous, vain thing to do.... but when your livelihood depended on you looking and sounding your best, wasn't it sensible? Nobody would pay well for good singing if there wasn't a pretty face and dress to go along with it.

She was startled by the way one of the girls--the younger one, it looked like, as she couldn't have been older than a very early teenager, if not a tweenager--leapt up and pulled the other back so quickly she nearly fell, the crackling sound that registered in her mind.... coming from an empty hand. If she wasn't holding a tazer, then.... then that had to be magic? Was she really a sorceress too, at that age? But she hadn't heard Courtney sing.... Maybe she was a different sort. Either way, she took a deep breath, trying to think of a spell of protection to buy herself some time.

But then she wasn't about to attack immediately, it seemed, and the other one actually sounded concerned.... "I-I'm fine...." A fact which still surprised her. Even her arm was alright--the scarring had absolutely no lingering pain, oddly enough. It was like the damage had been long healed. Her head was intact too, and she didn't even feel pain from Rayne's burns.... She actually didn't feel anything from the collar, as a matter of fact. That probably would have been more concerning if she actually gave a rat's ass about the dhampir she was connected to.

She did notice that the girl had said 'heck', though.... That seemed like a modern enough word; not referring to Dissonance, not a devil, not even Hell itself.... Just heck, a neutered swear word which probably had no need to exist outside of North America. For some reason, that and the girl's tone were relieving. "My name is Anna. Anna Marshall. Who are you?" She stayed on the floor for the time being, partially because she was still a little too dizzy to trust her legs just yet, partially through some half-baked instinct that suggested she remain as small and non-threatening as she could until they calmed down a little.
