The girl looked a bit startled at Mio's sudden change in attitude. "Am... I supposed to kill it? Did it do something wrong?"
A small look of fear crossed the silpelit's face. "Did I do something wrong? Was I not supposed to take those cookies?"

"We...could always run, if you don't think you can handle it," Mio said, keeping her hushed tone as she inched closer to the door. The footsteps were getting closer, they would need to decide on a course of action and quickly. Even quicker if they were to try and avoid confrontation. She was probably being a little too blunt, but the situation was escalating quickly, "You didn't do anything wrong. Remember how I told you monsters appear at night? They can attack unprovoked."

In spite of the obvious fear and her body's trembling, there was also a kind of determination written on her features, a more collected overtone that was quickly formulating a course of action. Perhaps it was her ability to deal with ghosts that allowed it, but more than likely it was simple necessity. She had to make sure she and Nana made it through this one way or another.

"If... if you think I should, I'll do my best! I won't let it hurt you." Mio suddenly felt something wrap around her waist and lift her easily into the air, depositing her behind the horned girl, who was trying her very best to look ferocious, and failing miserably.
Nana had no idea what to do to the creature her friend had described... but if it was bad, she could hit it. She didn't want to kill it, even if it was bad, but she could at least try to scare it away. Maybe it would leave them alone then, and the others would do the same.

The feeling of being lifted wasn't something entirely foreign to Mio, she faintly remembered someone else picking her up, the warmth, the feeling of security that came with it...Although none of these things were present now. A small gasp was drawn from her and instinctively the camera was grasped before she registered that it was Nana, who sat her down quickly and easily.

Immediately her plans needed to be amended. The footsteps stopped in front of their door and there was the sudden sound of pounding on the door, of something trying to break it down. Mio choked down a small cry. She couldn't panic now, she had to be the 'leader' in this situation. "I think it's one that has no head and a mouth on it's chest. It's slow, but strong - it'll break the door down if it's not dealt with quickly, can you open it and do so?" The explanation was rushed and not very good. She wasn't even sure that was it, but there was no time dwelling on minor details.

Slowly, cautiously, and with more than a little hesitation due to fear, Nana reaches for the door with her prosthetic arm, reasoning that the worst that can happen is she'll lose it... having the apparent thing on the other side grabbing ahold of her vectors would probably be much worse. As her hand clasps the knob, the girl closes her eyes for a moment to steel herself before flinging it open, vectors at the ready and her other arm up in a boxing stance.
