"...hm, I suppose you have a point," Red XIII rumbled, considering Jack's words good-naturedly. It would be very interesting if this fellow 'Jack' were able to actually visit his own world--exciting, too, although he feared that most of the residents would immediately assume he was some sort of aggressive monster. Red XIII himself was occasionally chased away from properties by alarmed humans with shovels, firearms, or bladed weapons, and no amount of spoken explanation would put these people at ease--this tended not to happen as much in Midgar, but in more rural communities it was generally in everyone's best interest for him to hang around Cloud or someone else relatively normal-looking (as a general rule, normal citizens tended to flee from them when Red XIII and Vincent walked down the street together) and pretend he was a pet... it was humiliating, but it was better than getting all of AVALANCHE run out of town.

"I suppose my people could be said to have a bit of mystical connection with the earth and sky of the planet we live on," he offered Jack thoughtfully. "We are pledged to protect them both, and all of the living things on the planet. Cosmo Canyon especially." He sighed a little. As the last of his kind, he didn't feel like he was doing a very good job, even with AVALANCHE's good intentions... it was his responsibility, and his alone, but as just one warrior it often felt as though there wasn't much he could do --at least he could keep the canyon safe, though, that much he was capable of. He wished he could find a mate somehow, propagate the species... he wanted dearly to sire his own cubs and raise a family, but Dinne was dead and that left him the very last of his species.

Distractions aside, he listened attentively to Jack's explanation of Halloween and its respective king and town. The idea of an entire town working towards a common goal, cooperating and enjoying themselves in the process, sounded a lot like a utopia to Red XIII, and it made him oddly happy to hear about it, even without the inherent excitement attached to hearing about new worlds and places like this one. "That's remarkable!" he told Jack, showing some of his teeth in a grin he was only half-aware he was making before turning to look at Sally, who still hung back--she'd remind him of Vincent with that, if she were more prone to flat expressions and less to being oddly charming. "You participate in these plans and celebrations too?"
