Simon was delirious, he had spent the most of the imperishing night hiding in the tunnels he dug beneath the greenhouse from the roving monsters.
There was mud caked on every inch of him.
He didn't so much mind the filth, but the aches growing in his bones and the feverish state he was in from eating nothing but plants and roots he couldn't recognize had left him on the brink of exhaustion.
The innumerable hours he had spent holed beneath the surface, huddled in fear as he heard the encroaching scratches of a beast above, it was all a delirious blur now.

It had been a while since he had last heard the digging of the creature seeking his scent and Simon eventually decided it was worth venturing a look.
The surface was bright again and not a monster in sight! The digger averted his sensitive eyes from the blinding morning light and crawled out of his hole.

He opened the first door he found, but didn't recognize it. Wasn't there a kitchen around here?

Simon walked straight until he found a bathroom and drank from the sink with his hands.
Next, he washed his face with a splash of water, doing more to smear the mud then cleanse it but as his eyes dried, he noticed a figure through a doorway he hadn't noticed before and gave a startled, "H-Hello!?" in hopes that it was human.
