The longer Ange stayed in this house, the more she realized that it was no different from living with her aunt or in the Academy. The setting and circumstances were different, but the end result was exactly the same; every day bled into the next without anything changing. Even the monsters had proven to be just a minor distraction. Of course she would try to avoid them, but she'd make a conscious effort to avoid her classmates as well.

... The blue rodent running through the first story halls was new though, and Ange found herself coming to a stop in order to get a better look at it. It looked like it might be a porcupine or maybe a hedgehog or something like that. It was a bit strange to see, but it didn't look like this guy was out for blood like the rest of the house so she didn't care.

"...trying to get away from something?" Ange asked nonchalantly, glancing up to see whatever it was. She didn't see anything immediately, but then again most of the monsters would give up after chasing you for the length of a few rooms, or after you dunked into a place where they couldn't see you--at least, when they didn't just break the door down or walk right through it.
