Jonouchi grinned widely as he sat there on his bed. He was hungry and hadn't left his room for a long time, but he felt fulfilled. The blond fell backwards onto his bed, laughing from joy. If only the old man could see him now. The dueling training had been rough at the time, but what he was putting himself through now made it look like a walk in the park. No food, just sleep and constant meditation. Ever since his encounter with Zetsu, he'd done nothing but those two things. He might've gone a little overboard on his training, but the results made it all worthwhile.
It took quite some time. He might've been able to feel his chakra the first time faster than the average newbie, but it didn't make getting better at it easier. For a while, it took about the same amount of time to get in touch with his chakra. Slowly but surely, he cut down the time little by little. A while after that, it seemed like only moments after he began to meditate that he felt the chakra circulating within him. Zetsu had told him that real ninja could call upon chakra on the fly, right? So he had decided to try it without meditation. It took a fair share of concentration and effort to make it happen, but he was thrilled when it did. He was getting there! And so he had spent hour after hour, repeating the process and cutting down the time it took.
By the time he stopped to take a break, it still took him a few seconds, but he was close! He could feel it! The rumbling in his stomach, however, told him that he had taken it too far. He swore aloud at himself - it was definitely night time by now. He'd waited too long to get supplies, and now he was in a hole. He'd have to find some way to make do, he just wasn't sure how.
