In the few moments after the Overlander's arrival, though, no monster or other creature appeared. She certainly wasn't moving quickly enough to indicate pursuit. On top of that, she was injured, and Luxa was forced to admit that perhaps attempting to hide in a place she knew little to nothing of would also be a very bad idea. She paused, half-in and half-out of the stairwell, and was at the point of reascending when the second Overlander appeared.
The Underlander froze, glancing quickly between the golden-haired girl on the floor and the woman who had just arrived. If the woman was the person who had injured the girl in such a way, then it might be better for her to just leave; but the way she spoke, it seemed she was more of a friend than an enemy.
If all three of them were trapped in this house, then it made sense for her to help - at least, as much as she could. She had never been much good when it came to healing the injured.
Carefully, Luxa levered herself out of the stairwell and approached, one hand instinctively going to her hip - but her sword wasn't there, and she reluctantly dropped her hand. She was fairly sure that these people weren't monsters, but she was quite a bit less sure that they could be trusted. The younger Overlander seemed to be in no state to hurt her, but if her friend thought that Luxa was threatening her, then she'd rather be prepared for whatever would be coming her way.
"Do you know what attacked her?" she asked the elder Overlander, as briskly as she could. Up close the girl's wounds were much worse than they'd seemed from her hiding spot in the back of the room; Luxa had seen and been the victim of some excruciating injuries, but this was worse than she'd ever seen as far as she could remember. "For that matter, do you have anything that could help heal her?"
She had left the painkiller in her room with her sword. Luxa's judgement calls hadn't been quite as good as usual lately.
