Slightly startled, Mello defensively pulled his hand away from the ladder and opted to put it in his pocket instead. He'd been rather taken aback by Break's reaction, as he had never seen Break this snappy before, and had not been expecting such an irritated response. He paused for a moment in uncertainty, raising an eyebrow as if only to acknowledge his surprise, before deciding to make no comment. Whatever Break's problem was at the moment was probably nothing he needed to know.

"Well, then," he said, his tone just a bit more vexed than it had previously been. "You won't have to be surprised now, because I haven't got a bloody clue about carpentry, and I don't exactly have any better ideas about the tower. Unless maybe... you coat that rabbit's paws in super-glue, tie it to a long rope, swing it up so it sticks to the side of the tower, and then use it to pull yourself up."

He glanced down at the rabbit for a moment-- thing seemed to be sort of attached to Break for some reason, and it was rather amusing-- before grinning slightly again. "Weird. That thing seems to really love you. Y'know, I'm almost positive I ran into the same one a while ago, and all it did was run the hell away from me and hide in a corner."
