This house was really that bad, then. It sounded nearly as dangerous as her home, if not even more so - here she didn't even have Aurora to accompany her. Whoever decided it would be amusing to bring them here had a very sick sense of humor.

Had Luxa been able to see the Overlander, she would have graced him with a very dry look. Moving more quickly didn't make her regret complaining at all; she'd be out of the light sooner rather than later, and how mature of a revenge it was. "You are an Overlander," she said matter-of-factly. "You are human, but you live aboveground, not in the Underland. Therefore you must live in the Overland, and so, an Overlander."

But... "You are an Overlander, yes?" Luxa asked, slightly uncertain. "You certainly don't seem like any Underlander that I know. Or are you a Halflander?" Her cousin was a Halflander, but he spoke differently from this... person.

No, he was an Overlander, certainly. Even Halflanders -

Did it matter? She was almost certainly the only Underlander in this house. All others were Overlanders, of course - no one else had been completely blinded when they entered... had they? "Did you -" How to-? "... While you have been here, have you come across any others who have been affected by the light as I was?"
