"I'm sorry." Marta apologized automatically, although she wasn't quite certain what she was apologizing for. She hadn't introduced herself, though, nor had her greeting been particularly pleasant. She swallowed, nodding as the girl continued. She wasn't sure that she understood, but she had no intention of interrupting her just yet. Instead she wondered how unlucky a person would have to be to get drawn into this place twice, and without their memories to boot, although she somehow doubted that was the case here. After all, there was no way out. If there was, everyone would have known about it by now.
By time the girl introduced herself she was only half listening. It wasn't that she didn't care, but statements like that were so common that they barely even seemed noteworthy. She had managed to straighten herself up, the presence of another person encouraging her to put on a considerably more confident look than she had been wearing. It wouldn't do to be looking so pitiful. After the girl stated her name she started to glance off to the side, over her shoulder once more before her head snapped back as she mentioned being a master of martial arts, followed by an inexplicably placed chair in the corner exploding.
Marta instinctively raised one hand to cover her face before slowing lowering it, letting her hand hover above her stomach and she surveyed the damage. She'd never heard of Juken or qigong manipulation or whatever, but it seemed like it was pretty powerful. Randomly shattering a chair didn't really seem necessary--honestly, it seemed more like an excuse to showboat than anything--, but the demonstration had at least answered a couple of her questions. There were plenty more to go, but they could come later. Besides, she had to admit, it was pretty amazing.
"I'm Marta," she began, deciding to just try and give a condensed explanation. The girl had raised a lot of questions, and probably had plenty more (didn't they all?), so it was probably best to get things moving now, before some other monster came along. "You're right, those things out there aren't human." She shivered. "They're monsters. There are a lot of those in the house, some of which look more monstrous than others. Some of them...actually look pretty human, but they're all pretty dangerous." She folded her hands over her stomach and glanced off to the side as she continued, obviously not caring for the subject at hand. "It seems like everyone who comes here finds themselves waking up in this room, and a lot of them are from different worlds. It's pretty weird, but..."
She shrugged, looking back to the girl, offering a small, apologetic smile. "No one's been able to figure out why we're all here yet."
