Yukimi wasn't really sure what was going on. He'd admit that. He was a simple guy when you got right down to it, and this was not a simple situation. He didn't know what was up with the bedsheet in the kitchen or the emo kid (worse than Yoite! God!), he didn't know why Machi insisted on running everywhere and shouting in tongues, and he didn't know what the fuck was in the hall. All he knew was that they looked squishy and he was about ready to let off some steam.

Machi shouted something else in foreign and then something in his awful Japanese.
"Oh, just shut up and hold these," he snarled. He shoved his kitchen loot at Machi- a loaf of bread and some peanut butter, some cold canned soup, and a bottle of vodka (for disinfectant purposes, of course, in case they were hurt), and lots of tea leaves. Now he was ready.

"Come on, freaks!" He pulled out a few kunai. He figured he'd best not use his gun until he knew he had more ammo. Besides, it was so much more satisfying to beat things to death the hard way. "Catch me if you can! WHOOOOOO!"

He practically skipped down the hall, tossing the kunai. One narrowly missed a crawling figure, but it was too fast- two more embedded themselves in the belly of the big slow beast. It went down slowly, and Yukimi could feel the floor shake when it finally hit the ground. The crawling thing turned back to chase him, and he found that he was laughing. Weird, huh? Maybe the adrenaline rush was working wonders on his built-up stress. Maybe he was going batshit insane. Who cares which?

He leapt out of the way as one of the crawling figures snapped at his foot, then stomped on its head. This was way more fun than it should be.

Machi fell back against the wall when Yukimi thrust the groceries into his arms and had one wildly conflicting moment where he was torn between the overwhelming amount of groceries in his arms, the gun in his hand, and the desperate need and desire to run. He resolved this mostly by propping his back against the wall and struggling to keep everything together, nearly dropping the gun in the process. The yelling baffled him further and it took a moment to realise that Yukimi was taking the monsters on.

Happily.

Everything had officially just broken as far as Machi's understanding was concerned and it was too strange for him to even consider now, let alone fully comprehend. He sank down to the floor in despair and a need to reclaim his balance, then gathered everything and ran, bolting for the door--the door to the bedroom, which was the only safe location he had possession of.

Yukimi's whooping (and then laughter) hit his ears and he shut his eyes tightly, trying to shut everything out--nothing made any sense! The new monsters, Yukimi--all he could do was try to get a safe place. His heart was still hammering in his chest, thudding against the weight of his ribcage and the weight of what he was carrying. This was too much again.

It was insane.

Yukimi was enjoying himself. Punch here, kick there, roll this way (not that it was necessary to dodge, but now felt like a good time for a somersault), kunai over there- it was like Christmas, but with alot more blood. He was enjoying himself so much that he almost didn't notice Machi retreat to the bedroom.

"Hey, wait up!"
He made his way over towards the doorway and with a longing glance at the monsters and an exasperated sigh. He was having fun, but he wasn't going to abandon a kid in favor of the carnage. But it was tempting. "Where are you going anyways?"

Machi nearly collapsed into the door, trying not to overbalance while running and finally giving in to the situation--there was no way he'd be able to do anything as encumbered as he was. He'd seen--through the corner of his eye--Yukimi use the same kind of weird knives (were they even knives? They were like prop stakes) that Zetsu used, though. Was... was he also a--what, ninja?! That would... make a little more sense, but...

The pianist fumbled the knob and plunged inside the loudly chirping bedroom. "In here!" He lost several parcels on the floor in recovering his gun, hastening to slam the door once Yukimi was inside--one of the wall monsters plunged for them and he grabbed for the adult, panicking.

"Look out!"

((OOC: Oh hey, italics is Borginian, but due to circumstances there's a chance Yukimi might understand it.))

Yukimi followed him inside the bedroom. Or rather, he got in the doorway before he stopped to stare in awe at the sheer weirdness of the room; there were crickets everywhere. He had been warned about the monsters, but he had expected the rooms at least to be normal. There was even a plush cricket on the bed. Who the hell made a plush cricket? And even over the din of monsters from the hall he could hear the chirping. He stared down at Machi in abject horror. He couldn't honestly expect Yukimi to stay in here, could he? He'd go crazy within an hour or two! Any sane person would!

The error here was that Machi was hardly sane. He proved this again by yelling some gibberish and grabbing at him. Yukimi was beginning to doubt his own sanity; despite the fact that he had definitely heard nonsense, he somehow understood it this time. He spun around just in time to meet one of the skeletal creatures, which sunk its teeth into his leg.

Machi cried out and pulled back on Yukimi's arm instinctively as the monster sank its teeth into his leg, trying to jerk the man back inside the room in a panic. At the same time, the pianist dropped everything and pulled up the gun, pointing it hurriedly at the monster before freezing up, unable to fire. It was instantaneous. He literally locked up.

The smell of something ungodly horrible hit his olfactory senses when the monster got close, making him choke and nearly throw up. He turned his head, trying to cover his nose without taking his eyes off of the thing or letting go of Yukimi (or taking the gun off the thing's head), which basically meant he suddenly had to hold his breath--something that might have happened anyway, with the sudden pressure of having to use the gun. Even though he'd been able to fire it before, it had been the panic of the moment and the desperate need to make sure everything was real that triggered the reflex, and now that he was trying to do it willingly he suddenly couldn't. The overwhelming input (gun, smell, monster, Yukimi, more) made his vision black briefly and he stepped back, trying to stay balanced.

((OOC: I think too much went on in this post, I'll fix it later.))

Yukimi was aware of three things at the moment. The first was that he was a fucking idiot. He was a seasoned ninja, and maybe most of his missions dealt with people instead of stinking zombie things, but he should still know not to turn your back on your enemy- even if you did just enter a room designed by an eccentric but sadistic bastard. The second was that it hurt, and not like the superficial pain of the redhead brat's attack; he'd been holding back. This was a sharp pain, combined with the stench and the rush of adrenaline, and for a moment his head swam. The third thing was that Machi was pulling him away from the zombie. This would've been a good idea normally, and though it might hurt his pride Yukimi wouldn't have resisted. The problem was that the thing's teeth were still in his calf, and Machi pulling him away just made them tear further into it. He grit his teeth and grabbed the doorframe to stabilize himself against Machi and the leg, which seemed pretty intent on collapsing under him.

Throwing Machi off would be a temporary solution, and might make the kid go crazy again. Instead, he pulled him gun out of his jacket and fired off a single shot into the thing's head. It emitted a hiss like wet wood burning and released its grip. As nice as it would be to see it die (if that would kill it), he didn't take the luxury of watching- he slammed the door shut and collapsed against it, trying to catch his breath.

"Godammit kid..." He directed a half-hearted glare at Machi. "I only have... six bullets."

Machi fell back onto the floor, bracing himself before the impact out of habit and catching himself before he hit his head, although he still landed somewhat painfully. The gun stayed in his hand, though he was still panicked, frozen from where he'd tried to fire the gun. He opened his eyes to see Yukimi bleeding onto the door. It... there'd been a gunshot, even though he hadn't.... or... no, he hadn't, Yukimi had, and he shut his eyes again, ducking his head as grappled with the events and realisation. Why... what had frozen him up, when it had been okay to shoot--? There was a crunching sound as something slammed into the door and he looked up again. The door? The door?!

"Shit--!" He sat back up in a crouching position, hunching over the floor with his head resting on the heels of his hands. The butt of his gun was pressed against his forehead, but he hardly noticed despite the pressure. The door wasn't supposed to make any sounds, not unless someone else was out there--and he knew there wasn't. There was no one out there and that meant everything was different and... and everything was different from the night before and he didn't know what was going on and this was clearly no longer safe! His fingers tightened around the grip of the gun and he clenched his teeth, letting the pressure build up in his head before standing up suddenly with another half-panicked glance at Yukimi's wound.

It was deep.

Yukimi felt the door shake as something slammed into it. Well damn. Under normal circumstances, that would be fine- hell, just a second ago he'd considered these things a good way to let off some steam. But having one leg mangled sort of changed things. He knew he could defend himself, at least well enough to survive, but he wasn't so sure about defending Machi too. He was almost positive that the kid couldn't use the gun- even if he could, panic attacks were not exactly conducive to good aim. And the kid was panicking. Yukimi sighed.

"Come on." He heaved himself up, using the desk for leverage, and tried not to grimace when he put weight on his injured leg. "Let's move this desk in front of the door."

After that was in place, he could worry about calming the kid down. And about disinfecting the wound... yeah, that was gonna hurt like a bitch. But normal human mouths are pretty gross, and that thing smelled like rotting flesh, so it must be at least twice as bad. He didn't feel like getting an infection anytime soon.
