Chaos is a universal force, the force of change, the eternal cycle of destruction and rebirth. Through the workings of that force, evolution occurs, time passes, all things that begin end, and all things that end herald a beginning.

The embodiment of that force was, at this particular point in time, sitting in an armchair in front of a roaring fire, staring at nothing in particular while he contemplated the situation he had been thrust into some months ago.

This world was not his own; of that, he was relatively certain, as much so as he could be given the circumstances. As such, there really was no reason why he should have been there - no reason, in fact, that he -could- have existed there in the first place. And yet, here he was. He was still himself - still the embodiment of destruction, the end and the beginning of the eternal cycle. Still cut off from the majority of his power, by both choice and circumstance.

And yet, there were differences here.

His connection to the collective subconscious was still as strong as ever, but there wasn't nearly as much of it here. It was a phenomenon he had experienced before - on Miltia, for the most recent example, right before the planet died. A concentration of destructive, hateful energy so powerful that it drew him like a moth to flame, blotting out his perception of the rest of the universe. He could no more resist that draw than the moth could resist the call of the flame, and yet, he knew what it would bring. Death. Destruction. Pain. And here, he was uncertain of the continuation of the cycle. Something was blocking that part of his perceptions.

As he stared into the fire, Yeshua - known to all and sundry as chaos - sighed. He couldn't see all of the pieces to this puzzle, and that, more than anything else, bothered him.
