Machi cried himself out in the bed of the Cricket Bedroom, shutting the door and letting the room's constant chirping drown out the muffled sound of his sobs. He fell asleep there, passing out from the physical effort of crying, the overwhelming emotional drain caused by the tears, and the horrible realisation of why he was here. This house was--well, for him, it was obvious now, because there was no other logical reason--it was his punishment for being a liar, for betraying Lamiroir and everything else. He didn't know for sure, but it was the only thing that made sense. Maybe it was different for everyone else, and maybe he was wrong, but nothing bad would happen to him if he treated it that way and maybe... maybe something good would come of it. He'd tossed his sunglasses aside before burying his head into the pillow, but had actually fallen asleep right on top of the gun and knife--although the latter had become separated from him in the process of crying, which was probably just as well. Fully awake now, he replaced the valuable black lenses over his face, his mouth a grim line. It was almost night. He would... he would see what happened then. Until then... he wanted to play the piano.
It was an irrational desire, but he hadn't been able to get near the precious instrument during the previous night and he was afraid he wouldn't be able to play it again during this one. He might never get to play it again. Making his way downstairs quietly, he made sure there was no one coming before rounding each corner and sitting down on the bench, arranging himn=self comfortably before running his fingers delicately over the keys.
He thought about talking to Jono as he hit the opening chords, but after that such mundane worries became less prevalent--he'd revealed himself as prone to weakness in front of the blond boy, but that would sort itself out in full time, if he survived that long. And then Zetsu and that woman who had helped him and the digging boy and Rayne... what had happened to the days when he had been so happy, before he'd made so many mistakes?
... well, that was actually the answer. His expression grew bitter and he started something lonely.
