Machi sat in the shadow of the piano, his head bowed, streaks of saltwater drying on his face in the wake of the sudden departure. He was completely numb, grief and horror overwhelming the rest of his senses and hollowing him out--he'd jerked back at the sudden appearance of the phantasms but inside he'd hardly reacted at all. Anna was--she was--
'Processed.' His pale hands curled into fists again, his fingers scraping the floor painfully--the sinking floor, slowly but surely, but he hardly noticed or felt either. He clenched his teeth, grinding them together gratingly, his eyes invisible behind the black sunglasses. A monster... 'Siren.' This... He couldn't even believe it was a lie.
