Julius gave Anna a wry smile, but did as he was told. "That might almost be worth how much it'd hurt," he said, before his mind could catch up with his mouth and engage the safety override.

Ah, and then there was Almaz. "I have," he said, adjusting himself to get more comfortable. "At least four times before, and none of them here. Hopefully these won't be like the ones I remember; they had a bad habit of regenerating from damn near anything."

Anna flushed a little at the man's off-hand comment and smile but managed to push down any stuttering that might have occurred. She fiddled with her belt, trying to re-center it, while listening to Almaz and than man talk. She almost slapped herself when she realized that she still didn't know his name. "I feel rather foolish asking this but, I didn't catch your name earlier while we were fighting..."

And in an attempt to seem humorous she added, "I think I'm the only one here who hasn't fought any zombies...just vampires and werewolves for me," with a slightly nervous smile.

R-regenerating? That... definitely didn't sound good. Almaz glanced at the pikes laying on the ground. There didn't seem to be anything left behind but those, so there shouldn't be anything they could regenerate from... he hoped.

Almaz smiled at Anna, not quite catching the fact she was joking. "That's still very impressive," he replied. "I take it you both do this kind of thing often, then? I've... only just started, myself." Compared to them, at least. Who knew how long they'd been fighting to be as good as they were?

Julius shrugged. "I've done a little of everything in my time," he said in reply to Anna. "Have to say vampires are the worst."

He caught Almaz' glance at the remnants. "I don't think they'll be getting back up. Whatever's controlling these things doesn't have its act together, or we'd be up to our eyes in the walking dead - or worse." He glanced at the pikes again, frowning thoughtfully. "Now that I think about it, this looks almost like the handiwork of an acquaintance of mine, fellow by the name of Vlad. Don't suppose either of you know of him?"

Vlad...Anna's skin crawled at the name. It would be a remarkable coincidence if he was referring to who she thought he was referring to. A little timidly, Anna asked: "Do you mean Count Dracula?"

Then Anna turned to Almaz, try hard to forget about the count. "I've been fighting since I was six, training for a battle that I probably won't live through; a family tradition more than anything. For four hundred years my family has been battling Dracula. If we don't kill him before the Valerious line dies my whole family cannot enter heaven. My older brother and I are the only ones left,"

"D-Dracula?! He actually exists?!" Almaz had thought that was just a story! Then again, he hadn't ever asked Mao or anyone else whether or not that was the truth. He'd never thought about asking. And here he thought he had it bad. What other things like that existed that he didn't know about?!

"That's... so sad." Why would someone do that? That was beyond cruel... "Is... Is there anything I can do to help?" he asked. "Did he do anything to you, too, sir?"

Julius raised a brow at Anna's question and subsequent explanation. "Vlad Tepes Dracula. I don't know that I would call the bastard a count, for all that he lives in a castle. It seems we have something in common, Anna Valerious. My family - the Belmont clan - have fought Dracula since the turn of the last millennium. No matter how many times we beat him, nor what methods we use, he returns every century, more powerful than before." He laid a hand on the whip that was now coiled on his belt. "This whip was created by an alchemist specifically to seal away his power, and given its true power by the first of my line to have encountered Dracula.. For a thousand years, we have used it to do just that, but he always manages to break that seal. Someone always calls him back."

To Almaz, he offered a wry smile. "Not to me specifically. I've already sealed him once."

"At least you have some help. It's just my family and our steel," Anna patted her sword affectionately and smiled at the man. "And it does seem that we have something in common. Perhaps we could be allies outside of this house's walls,"

Anna turned to Almaz and finally asked something that had been bothering her for a while. "Do you have any water, Almaz?"

Two people, each fighting the same guy, each whose families had been fighting the same guy for centuries... Talk about a coincidence. It was a good coincidence, though, he guessed, even if the reasons behind them were less than ideal.

"Water...?" he echoed as he thought. "No, not on me anyway. But you could always get some from the kitchen? It had running water the last time I checked, anyway. I could lead you there if you like. I could use something to drink, too, to be honest." And maybe he'd get something to eat while he was there, too. He just hoped there weren't any more of those zombies wandering around.

Julius smiled and gave a slight bow. "I'd like that. I have a few friends I think you should meet, if we ever get the chance. One of them, I think you will find quite intriguing." He was, of course, referring to Alucard, Dracula's son.

He took a moment to collect his things - knives lay scattered around the room, and a few of those poles could come in handy as well. "Water sounds like a good thing to me. I can try to bless some while we're at it, just in case."

"Unfortunately I don't have any friends for you to meet, just my brother," Anna told Julius as he gathered his things. "Can you really bless water? Are you ordained?" Anna helped gather somethings, occasionaly handing him a knife or spike.

"Would you lead the way Almaz?"

Almaz nodded, examining the room a moment before heading in the direction of the kitchen. He was pretty sure it was this way, but with that fight, he wasn't sure if he'd been turned around. The more they walked, however, the more he was assured that they were, indeed, headed in the right direction. It was just a little bit farther if he remembered correctly.
