Sasori had made his way downstairs with his usual calmness, ignoring or eliminating whatever attacked him as necessary, searching for a tub large enough to contain the headless creature he had managed to subdue and seal away in a scroll.

And, amongst the sounds of construction, he didn't hear the sounds of the faucet on the other side of the door. So he opened it and stopped, regarding the boy in the room with a detached sense of interest--he didn't appear to be a monster, but looks could be deceiving.

Aside from that, the dolls in this room were rather pleasing. Perhaps he would look at them later.

Ed finally twisted the faucet off, reaching for the towel and patting his face dry. His hands were still shaking, and...

He gasped as the reflection in the mirror revealed the door to be open, turning to confront whatever might have entered. Well...it wasn't a shadow creature, at least. At least it looked human. He swallowed, his throat suddenly dry.

"A-are you...I mean...you're not one of...those things. Right?"

"If you are referring to the creatures that haunt this house," Sasori said, an amused smirk playing on his face, "I am not."

He was an entirely different kind of horror; but he was art, and that was what mattered. He continued to study the boy, making no attempt to hide it. Shaking, a bit. The monsters must have scared him. But he wasn't dead, so that spoke for some defensive skill. Or maybe just luck.

"Did you just arrive?"

Edward sighed in relief, trying to calm himself. It wasn't so easy, with the door still open, but he figured if anything did grab this stranger it was his own damn fault.

Arrive...?

He drew a deep breath, nodding in reply. "What the hell is this place...? One minute I'm on the staircase, the next there's...who knows what trying to drag me under the furniture."

Sasori was alert for anything approaching behind him; he had his puppet still lingering there, held up by strings, but the puppet was blocked by the angle of the wall and so was not visible in the doorway. It was just as well; Sasori had little patience for those who would attack his art.

"It appears to be a mansion," Sasori said. "We were all brought here the same way." He did not want to admit to being trapped by the design of someone else, so he left that bit out. "As for the monsters, they arrived with nightfall."

"There's others?"

This whole thing seemed like someone's sick joke. But this was hardly the time or place to wonder why or how this had happened. Not when there were...things outside.

"...none of this makes any sense. But..." He sighed. "Do you want to shut the door? It's not safe standing with your back to a room full of monsters, you know."
