All things considered, it had been a good day. Jonouchi had met new people, kept his training up, and all around kept busy. However, one thing he'd forgotten to do was stock up, and it was this lack of foresight he cursed as he made his way down the stairs to the first floor. Did he beat the clock? Had night started yet? The hands protruding from the doors down the hallway might have given him some answers, but he was distracted. There was a strange feeling in his stomach. It wasn't quite like an upset stomach or food disagreeing with him, but something more... precise. It was like something was tickling his innards, and it felt more than a little unpleasant.
Unpleasantness changed to pain quickly as he felt something sharp inside him, not quite like anything else he'd felt before. It was like being stabbed, but... from the wrong way, and with a knife five times larger than anything he'd ever seen before. He doubled over in pain, slumping against the wall and screaming in agony. Something was... tearing? Or ripping? His vision was going blurry and he couldn't be sure of anything except the intense pain in his stomach. Just what the hell was going on? His cries stopped as he felt something warm running across his hands and arms right before his stomach seemed to burst open. He tried to cry out again, but no sound came out. He tried to look at himself to see what was going on, but could only make out his arms covered in red between the haze.
His strength ebbing, he found himself with an unusual clarity of mind. Was... this what it felt like to die? After all of that, this was how he was going to go down? No... this couldn't be it! He had to keep going! Jonouchi tried to take a step, but the sting of air against his innards sent him reeling back to the wall. So this was it. This was as far as he would make it. There was nothing left to do but smile - smile at how he'd made it through so many obstacles but would go no further. Closing his eyes, the duelist waited for the end.
