Kallen hit the floor with a resounding thud. Broken glass dug into her back and was probably doing a number on her loose fitting tank top, though the pain from the new cuts blurred with everything else so that she hardly noticed them. God, but she hurt all over! She could do nothing but lay still for a moment, waiting for the throbbing pain at the back of her head to subside while still more blood flowed from the wound on her wrist that she had inadvertently made larger when she had freed it from the boy’s jaws.

Speaking of that boy, why were they on the floor now anyway? All around her it seemed there was shouting, scuffling, gun shots and oh, that was going to make one killer headache before this was done. Kallen groaned as she finally tried her hand at moving, pushing at the other’s shoulders to dislodge herself from under him, but it was a feeble attempt at best. She’d lost so much blood… so much of her own blood to that boy’s stomach! She shuddered just thinking about it. Shuddered and kept pushing, if only because it helped her to cope with the churning feelings of confusion, disgust and awe that curled in her insides.

As if matters weren't complicated enough, now there were three dog-like things to contend with. They weren't like any dogs Chopper had ever seen, and he had even seen a dog gun. No, these dogs were surrounded by the smell of death, and the reindeer didn't like it one bit. It seemed as though one was being taken care of, but now he had a choice. Turn his attention to the other two, or focus on getting Big Sister out of there. It only took a moment to decide - his first and foremost duty was always to his friends and patients. Big Sister counted as both.

"Arm point!" He charged forward, his form shifting as he sprang into action. Gone was the tiny, shrimpy deer. In its place was a large humanoid body with that tiny deer's head on top. His arms were almost impossibly muscled - the kind of muscles most bodybuilders only dream of. However, his hands were not hands - he retained his deer hooves.

The gap between himself and the downed Big Sister and crazy man was closed in almost an instant. He had to get him off, he had to get her away, and the quickest way would be to give him a good whack and make a run for it. The dogs were a worry, but he couldn't focus on them now. He pulled his right arm back, then thrust it forward straight for the man on top.

"Kokutei Roseo!"

The dogs, whether or not they had expected such chaos and resistance, certainly seemed built well to handle it. They were fast, incredibly fast, and far better suited to battle than either the shadow creatures or the headless beasts--smart, swift, strong, and above all intelligent. It snarled as it came within Rayne's sights, many-jointed legs twisting and coiling to propel it to the side. Perhaps Zero should not have been so unconcerned about his target, especially considering it was already moving--for it was moving still, even after the shots had been fired and the slashes made.

To be sure, there were hits landed; no creature could have evaded them all. And yet it hardly seemed to matter; a few holes had been pierced in the thing by Rayne's bullets, an ear and the tail shaved off completely. Perhaps most horrible of all was the fact that Zero had cleanly removed the very top of its head, spraying himself and Rayne with putrid bits of fur and flesh, stinking blood, and splatters of slimy grey matter. A pulsating brain was exposed for all to see, dripping with gore and rimmed by the cleanly sliced, gleaming edge of skull that rimmed it.

It did not seem to care.

Nor, in fact, did it seem to care about its attackers, beyond howling in pain and snarling at them. Neither were injured or directly engaging them, and so neither were turned on--Chopper, too, was similarly ignored. All of its attention was focused on Kallen and the vampire Zero. Now that it was so close, it swung around and turned its back on its attackers, leaping onto the vampire's back to tear and shred with its claws, crocodile-jaws snapping as it leaned forward to bite down on and hopefully crush his neck.

Nor had the other two been idle; unwounded and not focused on, they two had come shooting towards the injured pair in a pincer-like movement from opposite ends of the room. Snarling and growling, they too skirted Chopper, bearing down on Kallen and the vampire Zero with tooth and fang, ready to tear at sides and any limbs within reach. Maim, crush, rip, tear, kill.... It didn't take a doctor or a good nose to figure out their goal.

Zero had been about to get up, snarling and spitting out little pieces of flesh while red dripped down his chin. The pain in his back was gone, not so much from the wounds already knitting close, regeneration fueled by the fresh blood he just drunk, but for the fact that the hurt was feeding the madness and the rage within, pushing him deeper into the blood madness even as the seal on his neck was flaring brightly.

Maim, crush, rip, tear, kill...The dogs weren't the only ones running on that instinct.

One of the hellhounds had jumped him again, ripping into his just healed over back again and drawn more blood. Putrid warm breath was huffing against his skin, slobber and blood dripping onto him as the beast tried to snap his neck. Zero clawed upwards, nails and finger tips sinking into rotting flesh, tearing himself as he forced the beast back, it's teeth just scraping without breaking the skin.

The vampire was about to retaliate, when another attack struck him right into his side, throwing him and the hound on his back halfway across the room. He hit something, it might have been the edge of the table, or some kicked over cabinet. In any case, it dislodged the beast from his back, and he fell to the ground, skidding a few meter before he got his feet under him and jumped forward at the already wounded hellhound.

The vampire probably didn't look much better than the monster he was attacking, with ripped clothes, blood splattered, his own, Kallen's, that of the dog, the red all the more stark against his pale skin, hands twisted to claws, fangs fully exposed in a snarl and hellfire in his eyes.

He might not have the powers of the Nobles, to summon fire or ice, to control the shadows, or just rent someone limb by limb with his thoughts alone. But something was there, writhing within him, normally chained by the seal and his will. And this something was lending the mad vampire its power once more. Preternatural speed and strength.

He met the hellhound mid leap, barely avoiding the snapping jaws and not much caring for the paws, Zero could regenerate yet, even though he would need more blood after. His hands found purchase on the wasted body of the hellhound, one tearing at muscles and bone on its side, digging into the wounds that the robot Zero's sword had already drawn. The other hand though was clawing at the head of the beast, raking over the exposed brain.

The vampire howled in pain, as the dog's teeth scraped over his shoulder, gouging bloody streams and taking a chunk of flesh with them. He snarled, pressing closer into that horrible body in a gorey mockery of an embrace. It was better that way, the beasts limbs and jaws too long and awkward to be of much use in grappling.

Viciously sank his own teeth into the hellhound's neck, rotten flesh and putrid blood filling his mouth, splattering his face and staining his silver hair a rancid red, as he didn't suck but tore, intend to rip the thing's throat apart even as his hands still tore at skull and rips.

Dropping to the floor to dodge the animal as the dog didn't seem to be phased by the bullets, Rayne cursed as she tucked the gun away. There was no use wasting anymore, especially if she only had a limited supply.

Head tilting back as she felt the air currents in the room shift, the redhead's eyes widened slightly at the once tiny and pathetic reindeer. It seemed someone had a few tricks up their sleeves. Charming. Quickly rolling away from the vampire and the other girl to avoid becoming a bystander in the attack, she quickly sprang up into a crouch, eyes tracking the dogs. Acting as quick as she could once one of them jumped by her, her glades flashed through the air, cutting off both of it's back legs, and taking off a large amount of flesh on his stomach. Recoiling back from the dog as it landed, entrails and various fluids spilling out, Rayne gave a very evil sort of grin as her blades swung around to rest at her shoulders with a metallic scrape.

Reaching out to grab the snarling dog by the exposed intestines, Rayne stood, easily picking the dog up with her. Even with her stomach turning at the scent of rotten flesh and spoiled blood, her lip curling at the the other vampire actually drinking, she didn't hesitate in her plan, grip tightening around the organs as she spun, not wanting too lose her new toy with the momentum, the dhampir let go as she came full circle, letting out a laugh as the dog flew across the room, hitting the wall with a very loud, meaty thump, leaving a trail of fluid and decay as it fell to the ground twitching.

Though he was satisfied at first with his imperceptible strikes, Zero slowly turned, skeptically, towards what he believed to be a fallen opponent, hoping that his 'ears' did deceive him with these sounds of the canine creature yet moving.

"You've got to be kidding me..." he mumbled, squinting his eyes in disbelief. This just wouldn't stand.

Baring down suddenly, Zero immediately visualized a quick course to intercept the remaining beast as it closed in on the injured. His body, low and arched towards the floor, made him look like a slipstream of red, his long, golden hair trailing behind him. Clutching it tightly, his the hilt of his blade in his grasp, the reploid hunter stormed forward.

Was he actually...angry? This time, it seemed as though he would not be so gentle.

Reaching the creature, he swooped in low and raked his sword across its legs, aiming to sever between the mangled joints of its limbs and its blood-stained paws.

From one predator to the next, was everything in this god forsaken house suddenly trying to devour her!? But, at the very least, her small deer companion--or should she say rather large deer companion now?--had spared her from the wrath of one. The vampire, which made her want to shiver whenever she thought about it, was now busy writhing at the other end of the room with a new target, making horrible tearing, squelching and growling noises that Kallen had to actively stop herself from watching, though the image in her mind was enough to make her severely ill anyway.

Never mind them, there were dogs.... Or now maybe just a single dog? Whatever had happened to the other of the pair that had previously been making it’s way toward her was now gone, which was an enormous blessing, though it was hard to appreciate while there was still a pair of fangs about to rip her apart.

Funny, she thought, how time seemed to slow right when she felt she could move the least.

Before she could do anything to defend herself, teeth were upon her, first grazing the skin and then sinking into the soft flesh of her chest, though not quite ripping away, thank god, before Kallen could get a hand on it’s muzzle. It backfired, sort of, she didn’t have a strong grip and the beast changed it’s target to her arm, which was alright, especially in comparison. The pain was still great, Kallen cried out with every twist of her torso and tug at her arm, but at least it was more dispersed now. Teeth in her arm, claws in her stomach, neither as bad as it could be, though all this scratching was doing a number on her already flimsy top. Kallen really didn’t need to be naked in front of all these people, it was bad enough having Lelouch and Suzaku see her.

She reached up with her free arm to grip the top of the mutt’s snout. She wished she didn’t need to touch it at all with the way the rotten flesh there seemed to collapse in her grip, but at least now her hold was more steady, more controlling or at least something like it. She desperately wondered where her pocket knife had gotten to, probably lying somewhere near her feet, retracted and looking to all the world like an innocent camera case. She cursed as she tried to keep hold on the dog. She couldn’t do anything but keep it’s fangs away from every vital part of her.

Blood. Death. Sickening smells were everywhere, but Chopper tried to block them out. He had to focus. He had taken care of the man, but now something else was trying to rip into Big Sister - one of those dogs. As if she wasn't hurt enough, the damage those teeth were doing made him frantic. He needed to save her, needed to start treatment now. Desperation left the poor reindeer few options.

He couldn't just hit the dog away - biting would become tearing, and that would make even bigger problems. He didn't have the time to switch to Brain Point and scan for a weakness, not when it was already trying to turn Big Sister into dinner. He'd have to trust to force. Lots and lots of force.

Moving, he put himself behind the dog. They were big, but in Arm Point, his frame was bigger still. Putting a hoof on either side of the hound, he simultaneously slammed them together into it's sides. With any luck, a blow like that might get it to release its bite.

Chopper's punch was unexpected; the hellhound on Zero's back was sent flying along with him, tumbling on the ground before regaining its feet. It gathered itself up and leapt as Zero did, snarling and barking viciously as they plowed into each other. Grappling indeed looked awkward, and to some degree, it was--still, the beast had a few tricks up its sleeve. It howled again as Zero tore into it with teeth and nails, the brain parting easily under his claws and splashing grey bore over the vampire's arm, while putrid bodily fluids and rotten bits of intestines streamed and slithered from its stomach.

Even as Zero sank his teeth into its neck, it struggled, drawing its long legs back at an angle wholly impossible, were it not for so many joints, and began slashing with mad fury, doing its level best to rip open Zero's stomach and chest--gut the boy like a fish and snap his ribs and tear out his heart and.... Well, the hound had a rather one-track mind, even if its jaws couldn't reach anything. The throat was easily torn out, spilling yet more rotten blood and flesh into Zero's mouth, but that hardly seemed to hinder it at all, simply giving its barks and howls an eerie whistling quality they hadn't before. A herald of death like it would not be stopped by something so paltry as a should-be-fatal wound.

The second dog was not having an easy time of it--Zero and Rayne acted nearly simultaneously on the same target. It howled in pain as Zero's flashing energy blade caught it in the hind legs, neatly severing its paws at the ankles--even as it fell, Rayne's blades flashed in as well, completely severing those same legs and tearing it open by the belly. Glistening half-rotted coils of intestines spilled out amidst globs of blood and even less pleasant materials; the intestine nearly came away in Rayne's hand as she grasped it, and was already tearing under the dog's weight as she flung it aside. It hit the wall right next to the kitchen door with a loud thump, leaving streaks of fluids along the wall as it slid to the ground.

Not that this deterred it--merely hindered it significantly. Such a beast would not halt in its mission unless it simply could not go on. And so the beast crawled and squirmed, spine arching and bloody stumps of his hindlegs scraping against the floor, as it used its intact forelegs to drag itself forward. It made for the nearest target it had, stretching out both paws to bury them into the distracted vampire's side--all the better to pull itself forward so it could plunge its teeth into him and rip and tear to its decaying heart's content.

The third dog, happily enough, had been having a considerably easier time with its target. It had successfully leapt onto Kallen and started savaging her breasts, teeth snapping viciously, though not tearing away just yet--her arm distracted it before it could quite get through to her sternum so it could snap that. Instead, it growled and snarled, clamping onto her arm and viciously tearing at it. Its objective was fairly clear--tear away enough of her arm so that it could be snapped by its brutally powerful jaws. Its claws were working as eagerly as its teeth, the hind legs kicking and tearing at her stomach with full intentions of disemboweling her, while its massive forepaws braced themselves against her shoulders, claws fully extended into them for a better grip.

Her grip on its muzzle wasn't doing all that it could--the slippery, sliding layer of rotting flesh and fluid sloughing off made sure of that. But still, it was the best that could be done, and was solid enough to keep it from breaking her arm entirely. Not to mention distracting it in trying to get its snout free while Chopper snuck up behind it. His hooves slammed together mercilessly against its sides, and there was a terrible succession of cracking and snapping noises as the hooves moved in and up--a great deal of the hellhound's ribs had been broken by the crushing force, as had its spine. It let out a terrible howl of pain as it collapsed, no longer able to support itself; the hound's full weight bore down on Kallen as it tried to continue its assault on her, snapping jaws and scrabbling claws little more than feeble struggling now.

It was a dark satisfaction that Zero got out of tearing the beast's throat, something primal that enjoyed the carnage and the spray of blood on his skin. He wasn't even deterred by the claws scrabbling at his side in a rather ineffective manner, pressed against the wasted ribcage as the vampire was.

And instinct, for this beast at least, was a mistake to follow. The hound giving up his leverage for useless struggling and scratching was all the vampire needed to haul it up and against a wall. What would have been impossible for him normally was easy now, fueled by blood lust and rage.

Zero drew back from the hound's mangled throat, not enough to risk the best's fangs again, but so that he could see the damage he had wrought. Stripes of flesh, the fluttering damaged windpipe, severed atery and there the glimmering shine of white of bone in all the carnage.

The hand that had been busy tearing at the hound's skull left it's work to dig into the mess of blood and rotten flesh until his fingers closed around the bone.

The thing might live on with a torn throat, but let's see how it did with a torn off head.

The human side of Zero recoiled from the madness going on, his consciousness lost somewhere in hazes of crimson and denying what was going on. Horrible, too horrible to comprehend and all that he had never wanted to be. E-Level. Mad and in a constant rage, only wanting to kill and maim. The very thing he despised, that he killed normally.
Was it over now? Maybe it was better that way...he wouldn't have to care anymore. And there was another vampire hunter in the house.
Surely Anita would be able to kill him.
It...might be better that way...
Yuuki...

He would have given in, continued to tear at the Hellhound in his grasp even as the spine separated under his hand, to rampage on, find something new to slay, something fresh that didn't taste of rot and decay. He would have.
If it wasn't for the sudden, vicious pain in his side. Unexpected and sharp. Nearly as bad as the time Shizuka had torn his throat during his turning.

Zero cried out, and let go of the mangled corpse in his grasp. Wide eyed he starred down at his side where the hellhound had bitten him. His vision was still swimming in red, but this was the blood in his eyes, and for a moment childish panic and pain flashed over his gore stained features.

What...what was...?

He screamed again as the beast lost his footing, teeth wrenching at his side and tearing another wound. It did not bleed much. There wasn't all that much left that could bleed anymore.
It fell down at his feet, giving Zero just a moment of peace.

Which was enough for the boy to turn and run out of the room.

Gaze snapping over to Robo!Zero as the dog landed, the redhead didn't give him a particularly friendly look. First he had invaded her fight, and then called her infected, as if she had been one that was turned. Now, he again invaded her territory, and barged in on her fights. Rage pulsed through her veins, fueled by the feelings of battle, and she barely was able to hold back taking out her rage on him, eyes bleeding into an intense red.

Lip curling, fangs flashing in the low light, Rayne gave him one last glare before turning to leave the room, ignoring everyone and anything else as she stalked out of the room, for the grand room, heading for the stairs.

Upstairs, there were monsters. Upstairs, there was something she could fight.
