Characters: Anna Marshall, Damon Gant
Setting: Grand Ballroom
Time: Day 007, afternoon
Summary: Anna plays the piano for a much-needed break from stressing about life in general.
Warnings: ......Gant? 8D;

Anna was spending more time in the new house today. It seemed like a good idea to have a change of scenery--as depressing and frightening as the bodies were, it seemed to help, at least a little. After being stuck in one place for so long, any change in surroundings, even if it was just a newer part of the prison, seemed like a good, welcome thing. She wished she knew what to do.... what she could do. Without her voice, working on song-spells was pointless; she was beyond helpless in that regard, unable to sing a single word. So was working on the blueprints for her guitar, though she had done so anyway--maybe she just wanted something to play and occupy her time with. She wanted something.... familiar. Normal. Some little piece of home.

She had found it in the grand ballroom, that so reminded her of the venues she had sung at in places. New York had places like this. Los Angeles had, too. Big cities liked big, glitzy places to show off their wealth and taste, and appreciation for the finer things in life and culture, like the arts. The piano in here was even nicer than the one in their old house, she noted--a simply enormous grand piano, polished to a mirror shine, with a roomy bench and gleaming ivory keys. She took a seat and flipped through the book of sheet music to see what they had--she'd sometimes played her own accompaniment, when she had to. Nothing too sad or slow, she didn't feel like pitying herself right now.... Maybe classic Chopin? They had Waltz number nine in here.... Farewell was a good piece. Very robust sound, beautiful, even energetic at parts....

She took a moment to test the keys, finding it perfectly in tune, and started to play. She was strong, she could do this, she could handle herself here.... She would just do it a little later. Right now, she would lose herself in the music, remember home, and just pretend.
