i spent some time looking at either how 1) lame with quizzes or 2) bitchy my lj has become. so i figure i should start using it for real again.
i used it for real for a brief period, but then it just peetered out. time for renewed vigor.
so, what happened.
well, i played 2v2 volleyball yesterday for the first time in a year or more, and i kicked ass. the other 3 people were all really good too. but i won all 3 games, with every partner i played with. so i felt really good, if totally exhaugested. my shirt and shorts were completely sweated through (like you really needed that level of detail). i loved the work out. and best thing is it's every thursday about 1/4 mile from my house.
The house is moving a long ok. I've mowed the lawn twice now. I bagged the front and just multched the back yard 'cause it's easier. Also spent a weekend up in a tree trmming out dead branches with a pole saw. It was fun. I think I'd like to be a landscaper, as long as I got to cut down branches. Might be based on the fact that I always loved knocking over dead trees in the woods when i was younger.
For 3 of 4 weekends now I've been in/through Troy. Last weekend a bunch of people (Adam, Cara, Jossie, Miles, Dave, Emily, and me) went camping in
Savoy in Western MA. Had a nice hike and lots of fun keeping a campfire going in the pouring rain. We also stuffed me, jossie, zoe, and her 2 dogs into my little 2 man tent. At least we stayed warm.
I took monday off and stayed in troy late. Adam B. and I went to play disc golf at
Hyzer Creek in Saratoga Springs. I've gonnen much better at disc golf. I think I could win a number of amatuer tournaments around here. Hyzer Creek was nice. Lots of pine trees to shoot through. I think I did better than par there, and i got par here at a different course i played for the first time. practice makes perfect. on the way back, adam played
Dispatch for me, which I totally love. They're a very fun band.
I also started listening to
David Wilcox on a whim. Roy Atkinson who used to play at
Mother's played a lot of his songs. I loved his version. I've found even more songs I love listening to David's other stuff. So I've been a music junky.
I also got an
ipod. I'm still listening to tons of audio books on
Audible. I think I have over 150 CDs worth of audio books. I got tired of paying for CDs, having to burn them, and switch them in the car. Now, everything is on the ipod, and i never have to switch anything. I fit every audio book i have on it, as well as all the travelling music i have, and i still have 1/3 left or so.
What else?
The job search goes on. no news there.
I've had 3 girls tell me that girls are irrational and that I shouldn't try to understand them. It would be more funny if it wasn't so true. But at least it keeps life interesting.
