The Doctor very vaguely (and quite loosely and far behind) escorted the Master out of the TARDIS. To the point of the centre console, anyway, then he watched him go, satisfied from this distance that he had, indeed, left. Martha and Sam were missing, but this didn't really surprise him. He'd figured Martha would go in search of him, he'd just hoped she hadn't gotten lost somewhere. At least Sam was with her -- or was it -- at least Martha was with Sam?

He needed to find them, anyway, at least within the next few days, by that time they'd probably start getting hungry. He had no plans to leave his TARDIS, and his first order of business was to go back to the room the Master had been working in, and finish piecing together what exactly he had been working on.

So, the Doctor re-entered the long corridor, noticing almost immediately this time that Martha's bedroom door was cracked open just a bit.

Makes sense. Martha being in her bedroom. It is her bedroom, after all. She probably wanted to show Sam.

He walked purposely to the door, pushing it open the rest of the way and stepping inside, suddenly feeling his whole self halt. He wasn't prepared for this. And now he could either, apologize, or say nothing and leave and hope they hadn't seen him -- or I could run out of the room, and keep running until I hit a wall, and hopefully I'll knock myself out and --

He stood there staring instead.
