This is certainly quite the interesting turn of events. Paying that much just to say that they're 'passive demihumans'? If I had to be blunt, its obviously just another way to extort money from those poor, pitiful people. So many times the Vohemar colonial nation has always boasted about how they give their citizens equal opportunities regardless of them being a human or not. But yet it seems they themselves now work against the rights they have been so famous for since their formation three centuries ago. Its almost saddening, really.
That same policy has been one of the few things that separates Vohemar from Ivona. But if that is gone, what is the difference between us at any rate? While we from Ivona treat our non-human counterparts a bit more harshly, Vohemar was supposed to be the opposite of that; to treat all citizens equally. And now that is gone, and the payment is only an addition for their own personal gain. Money is such an appetizing thing to each and everyone of us, after all.
Now that the whole of Reial knows about this, one can only wonder what is to happen next. I'm sure the demi-humans in Vohemar won't be especially happy about this new policy.
