So, I *DID* get convinced to go this weekend, and wound up spending about $5 as a result, which, considering Necro is usually my heaviest money-spending weekend of every year, means a whole lot. I found free parking (via the downtown parking meters [not enforced on weekends]), didn't buy a badge, and was still able to thoroughly enjoy myself the entire weekend.
I discovered the joys of
"Are You A Werewolf?", and found that I'm actually pretty damn good at the game. I got to play some Magic: The Gathering (which I haven't played in over 5 years). I saw lots of nice costumes this weekend, and lots of beautiful women. I got a little bit drunk, but moreso than I have in months. I met some new people, and saw some of my old friends.
I got to see some of the people I rarely get to see during the rest of the year. I got to see some people I see every week. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. These are the folks I saw over the weekend:
ameybell,
athairn,
dangergrrlie,
dangerous_lust,
dayity,
jeibear,
ldtomas,
nrgizerjeani,
obsidiangryphon,
oniyaneko,
stormwynde,
azhrarnx,

eddiehorror,
jyeshtha,
leilamae,
lillpita,
saice,
shelleypro,
tcallahan,
ursula_aveline,
veryaquarius,
wits_gulag. Thank you all for sharing a little bit of time with me this weekend, even if I only got to see/talk to you for a few moments. I love you all!
I'm really glad I got to go this weekend. The new hotel was a little strange, but by the end of the con, it wasn't too bad. The place definitely had a different vibe to it. It seemed a little less personal than the old place. As I said to many people over the weekend: "This is my family. This isn't my house, but this is my family."
