The keys to the kingdom
So, it looks like my new boss trusts me divinely. I just trumbled my way through a very difficult installation, and it was actually pretty easy, if a bit time-consuming. It's made my day go by pretty fast. But it apparently had a profound effect on my boss' impression of me.
My boss just left for lunch. She should have left the only other employee here to keep an eye on things with me as backup, but since today is his last day in the office, she asked him if he wanted to go to lunch with her and some other co-workers. He said 'do you think Mike is gonna be okay by himself?'. My boss smiled and said 'did you see what he just did? he's fine by himself.' So I'm pretty much running the department on my own.
Also, the company HR-guy cut me a check (mid-pay period) for half of my upcoming paycheck in order to help me catch up with bills (without my even prompting him). I'm so psyched. This company rocks!
See you all tonight or tomorrow night. It's party time!
