Very nice evening...

So, after I waited at home for the call for a second interview (which didn't come, but admittedly, it was a Friday afternoon), I went to see Corpse Bride with E and our friend R, whom a lot of you met at E's b-day party. We all enjoyed the movie well enough, but we agreed it was no NBC. The storyline was flat and uninteresting (and predictable as all hell), and the characters didn't feel as deep as Jack and Sally did. Emily (the Corpse Bride) was certainly a marketable character (in the collectibles dept), but she didn't seem to have enough depth to carry the film.

The one thing I *will* say about the movie is that the art direction and the cinematography of the film were INCREDIBLE. I loved the look of this movie SO much more than NBC. The overall feel of the movie was embedded in the look.

After the movie, we hung out at DQ for a little while, grabbed us some Blizzards, and then E and R went home. Seeing as I have nowhere to be early tomorrow, I headed over to BBs to see how the crowd was tonight.

I ran into ursula_aveline there, and we sat around waiting for our songs to come up. The rotation was RIDICULOUS, and we waited easily over 2 hours for our songs to come up. It made me appreciate so much more what we have on Thursday nights, and makes me thankful that we pretty much ARE the Thursday night crowd, because otherwise, we'd never get to sing, ever.

So now, I'm home, stressing out over my lack of employment, and getting ready for bed. I was supposed to go out with some folks tomorrow evening, but I had to put a kibosh on that, since I can't really afford going out and doing anything that costs money right now.

Monday evening I'm headed to my first CoDA (or Co-Dependents Anonymous) meeting. I also picked up a self-help book last week called Co-Dependence: Healing the Human Condition, so that's been helping a little bit.

I'm trying to make arrangements to start seeing someone, but the only place that's even remotely close to me that does sliding scale payments is being difficult. I've tried calling them three times this week, and I've been told every time that I'd be called back. When the person calls me back, they just leave me a message saying to call back in, and I have to start the cycle all over again. But that hasn't deterred me from continuing to try. I'll get through to someone EVENTUALLY. I have to. It's just the Law of Averages.

Anyhow... that's what's going on with me lately. I hope things are going well for all of you. I'll keep you posted on my job situation, when updates become available. :-P

Signing off,
The Demko
