I didn't see a post about this since the album's release so I thought I would put it out there.
I have to admit that I downloaded the leak way back when. I was going to give them my money anyway but I just couldn't wait. So I bought it on CD. Then bought it on vinyl. Then bought it for my dad & one of my friends. All in all, I have purchased 4 versions of this album and I feel like maybe I've done more than my share. But now, I've bought 5 versions.
Apparently, Starbucks is now selling the Crane Wife. With a sticker that advertises two never before released B-sides (total 20 minutes in length). And no, they're not "After The Bombs" or "Culling Of The Fold." So of course I had to cave. I mean, it's the best album of 2006. Let's fork down the dough again. They're iTunes downloads anyway, so it's not like they're written on the disc.
We get to hear: da da da --- The Perfect Crime Pt. 1/The Day I Knew You Wouldn't Come Back 15:15
& Hurdles Even Here 4:31
Both not really that great, lol. Lots of horns. The Perfect Crime Pt is aight, but the rest is very laid back jazzy. In other words, they feel like b-sides. Culling Of The Fold & After The Bombs are b-sides but you can see how they could fit in. These don't fit into the scope of that album at all.
I didn't know if anyone knew about these already or what. I'm rather iTunes illiterate and don't really know how to post them or anything. Maybe I should figure it out.
And I thought the regifted Starbucks gift card from my mom wouldn't be of any use.
