So I have watched the first season of Avatar: The Last Airbender, and it is
(a) awesome
(b) awesome
(c) adorable
Seriously, though, this show fills me with happiness and glee. It is so adorable, it's like watching kittens play with yarn, except with more martial arts and flying bison! I love them all! I could not give you a favorite character if I tried!
It has also put me at 3 for 3 in fandoms with princes with serious insecurity issues with regards to their fathers. This means that I occasionally get plot bunnies that begin with: "After Jack firebends his way to becoming the King of all Albion..." Yeah, those ones confuse me too.
Also, watching the show has made me want to smack whoever was in charge of casting the movie even more. FAIL FAIL FAIL. I love Dev Patel dearly, and I wouldn't even cast him as Sokka, who he physically resembles the most, because the Water Tribe is so clearly Inuit. I'd feel icky and gross. And Aasif Mandvi as Zhao? WAT.
Blah.
Bring on season two, I say! Earthbending! Katara pwning people in the face! Aang smiling! Zuko emoing! Uncle Iroh winning at life!
