i tend to find something to like about most movies i see, but i only really love one or two movies a year. last year, it was half-nelson. this year, it's there will be blood.
it is not unfair to call it a modern day citizen kane; not because it's of equal quality, but because it tackles the same themes and concepts of american culture and human nature with the same horrifying ferocity. unlike kane it's also extremely visceral, and does a considerably better job of doing it than no country for old men (which i still liked a lot, but in retrospect does not measure up). i recommend it!
