Delta Airlines Sucks!

So I got to JFK airport for my return to Seattle. Due to weather, flights were being canceled left and right. There were like 6 canceled fights on the reader board when I looked at it. Mine wasn't canceled, though that didn't stop Delta from treating me like a peasant.

The line to check my baggage was moving at a glacial pace. Seriously, I believe they went through about one person every five minutes. Though it turned out I was in the right line, communication to the passengers was terrible. I really just lucked out.

So I'm standing in line for over an hour, just trying to get my tickets. I would have done it in the self service stations, but they said mine required special handling, at to see the assistance representative, who I think needed a little assistance herself.

Eventually, I told the guy behind, an Egyptian come to the US to study PhD level chemistry, to please hold my spot for me. I walked up to the one lady handling the whole line and asked her what seemed to be taking so long. Without saying anything about her, personally, I expressed that us in line were going to miss our flights if she didn't find some way to speed things up, maybe get another worker there.

She did look at me, though I don't recall her saying anything useful, or expressing any sort of concern that she wasn't actually doing her job, and was screwing a line of 30 people over. I hope she gets fired.

Well, someone a little more proactive finally pulled some of us out of the end of that unmoving line, and rescheduled us to make up for the incompetance of the indifferent moron behind the counter. The flight touched down in Seattle 5 hours after my original one was scheduled to. All things considered, that's pretty good for a last minute stand-by. Still, that was five hours I intended to be sleeping in my bed at home. Yeah, I was pretty fatigued at work today, but at least I was able to report to work today, no thanks to the check-in assistance bitch.
