I can only sort of read Spanish, but this does not seem to be for a movie, but a book. I think it's just Greenwitch, in Spanish, and mistakenly labeled second in the series because of association with the film. The picture is scary, but the summary true to the plot of the book. The "release date" was this March. This led me to discover that there are Spanish trailers for The Movie That Must Not Be Named on Youtube, and even the Spanish fans of the books bash it. :)

True it's a book cover but I find it rather worrisome that the 'new cover' spanish version of Greenwitch has just come out this year with what looks suspiciously like a movie cover. I can't seem to find the other titles in Spanish in the major online spanish book shops either...

I think the Dark is Rising Movie Tie In book has the same blurb as the non-movie cover and I was browsing the french version of the movie cover book and the text seems to be the true book one. I mean Walden even has the book blurb on their site at last glance so I don't think that means much.

I'm expecting the worst :(

You mean you think it's a novelization of a movie to come?

I don't know about major Spanish book sites, but I can find all the titles in Spanish published in 2001 and 2002.

I am going to assume your idea is the correct one and strike all other hideous possibilities from my mind. yes.

The cover is a bit horrific but that seems to be fairly standard for foreign translations of (fantasy) books. ellen_kushner, a fantasy author, has had her books translated into several languages and in several entries has discussions about the truly funky covers one can find for translations. Between my Spanish and hitokiri_naveed's babelfish the summary doesn't sound too bad. I'd be worried more if it were the first book in the series.
