"Ryuubashi-san. My apologies for my own tardiness."

Asuka trotted up to the taller boy's side, bowing slightly. People staring, what? That was a concept she didn't quite understand yet, having a bad habit of staring at strangers, herself.

"There was a painting of a ra-- .. N- nevermind."

Yes. There was a painting of a rabbit in the hallway. It'd stolen her attention for at least five minutes before she made her way outside.

Sou was surprised - Asuka was pretty polite. Bowing back, he began to walk to the station's direction.

"It's alright, I was doing some...talking," Sou couldn't help but glare overhead at the two girls oogling at him and Asuka. This was getting annoying. "And what painting?"

She fell into step beside him, falling behind every few steps.

"N- nothing. A foolish piece of art by a foolish student of foolish subject matter."

Asuka, having just sped up a bit to match Sou's pace, half-whispered;
"I- it was a rabbit."

Sou slowed his pace, until he almost crashed into a pole when Asuka mentioned the rabbit. "A...rabbit?"

...well. She did look like someone who likes rabbits.

As such, Asuka continued walking, nearly leaving Sou behind.

"M- make nothing of it!! Yes, a rabbit!"

"A-Asuka-san!" Sou dodged the pole, running to get back into an even pace with her. "It's fine if you like rabbits! I find it...adorable."

"A- adorable?! What on earth do you mean!?"

She sped up a bit, obviously blushing. With her arms crossed, she looked like a bratty little girl.

Admittedly, maybe it was kind of cute.

"Cute, you know," Sou quickened his pace just to catch up to her, obviously confused. Was it wrong to call someone cute? "Rabbits are cute. It's cute that you like them."

"I- I do not understand."

Asuka looked away, flustered. Cue a confused passer-by taking note of her unusually reddened face.

"Well," Sou paused, still walking towards the station. He could hear the trains going in and out of the station, so they were getting closer. "You're cute, right? And the fact that you like rabbits, it just adds more to your...cuteness?"

Alright, only his sister and Momo uses that word. But it was kinda hard when you don't want to give someone the wrong idea.

Grumpy frown. Still cute. Asuka didn't quite know what the meaning of the word was, but she'd gathered from how she'd heard it used at school that it was a compliment.

She was not accustomed to recieving compliments.
"F- foolishness! I am not cute, and that is final."

"Ok," Sou shrugged, though a bit puzzled. Leora and Momo loves it when he calls them cute, so it was a bit confusing on why she wouldn't accept it. "It's still true."

Either way, they were already at the steps at the station, and Sou was already fishing out for change to get the ticket. He looked to Asuka, wondering if she had any money on her. "I'll pay for you too, if you want."

Asuka looked away, absently. Truthfully, she was running on little to nothing as far as money went, as her grandfather barely left anything behind. Pride overcame planning, however, as she tugged the train fare out from her uniform pocket.

"Unnecessary."

That brought a smile to Sou. She really is cute.

"I'll buy the food you want then, alright? My treat," He said, inserting the designated coins and grabbing the ticket. He passed through the metal stopper, pausing to put the ticket through and grabbing it, before waving Asuka to come over.

"Iwatodai Train stopping in four minutes, Iwatodai Train stopping in four..."

Oh man, he hope they won't stay here till the next train either.

This is where a statement regarding Asuka's ability to fend for herself would go, were she not paralyzed in fear of that .. strange device that apparently consumed the older boy.

A representative of social services had assisted her on her trip from the mountain into Iwatodai, and she didn't quite recall a device like that anyway.

Her fear of the mechanical menace was, sadly, obvious.

"Asuka-san? Is something the matter?" Considering how the girl looked at the gate like it was possesed, he could say something was wrong. "It's only the gate, Asuka-san. Do you want me to help?"
