Ernie was feeling a bit rushed and annoyed as he walked into the library. There had been a "disturbance" in the dungeons just as he was supposed to get off of his prefect runs, so he, unfortunately, still had to deal with it. And since some Slytherins had been the root of the problem, it had taken a while to deal with it.

There was a no-food-in-my-stomach kind of grumpiness written across his face as he took a seat across from Daphne. He had at least managed to stuff a biscuit or two into his pocket, but that was a small consolation, since he wasn't supposed to eat in the library. "Right," the prefect pronounced shortly as he tugged the appropriate items out of his bag, "Where should we start?"

Daphne raised an eyebrow when Ernie took a seat, and it looked to her as if he wasn't in that great a mood. She decided she was going the be matter-of-fact, maybe, and get this over with as soon as possible.

Therefore, her voice wasn't all that warm when she replied. "Comparing our notes might be nice."

Ernie didn't really notice Daphne's responding tone, as his stomach was grumbling and he was a bit concerned with that. He was of the opinion that the project would go on smoothly anyway; they both seemed determined to get good marks on it. "Yes, of course."

He quickly unrolled his parchment of notes, marveling slightly at how very untidy and small his script became towards the bottom of each piece. Ernie turned it to face the girl and elaborated more on his sources. "I started with the brief textbook facts on banshees, just to get an overview, before I moved to more in-depth reference books. I also consulted Lockhart's book on them to get a more personal perspective, but I'm not sure how useful it'll be for a paper."

Daphne nodded shortly, skimming the notes. For the most part, she was impressed with the depth of the research. It was almost a relief to know she wouldn't be handling more of the responsibility. "It might be a good idea not to include Lockhart. It seems more like someone telling a story than giving important information, though I do like the idea of a personal perspective."

She slid her notes across the table towards Ernie, sitting forward to explain her information. "Most of my notes include the myths surrounding banshees, and why they are in fact myths and not truth. While there are a few textbook facts, I don't think it will interfere in trying to write the final draft."
