Megan walked out of the front doors. She wasnt in her robes anymore since she changed when she was in her dormitory. Instead, she was wearing a black long sleeve shirt with jeans. Also her hufflepuff scarf was wrapped around her neck. She felt a little worried about Ernie. Hoping he wasnt too overwhelmed with studies and perfect duties. Michael was also feeling the same way too. Was it bad that she was starting off the year in such a calm mood? But she also felt glad they could hang out again, since he seemed so busy and they mostly been communicating to each other through their journals. It was going to be different though, due to the fact they were no longer a couple. She walked past the lake, looking around for him. Then she spotted the Macmillan boy from a distance. "Ernie!" she called out his name to get his attention.
Ernie tried not to smile too broadly as he heard his name called. He swiveled about quickly to spot the figure catching up to him, but held his ground. When Megan had caught up, she found him with his arms crossed playfully across his chest. "You should know that Macmillans don't like waiting. I might have been able to make it all the way 'round before you showed up!"
He started to walk again, assuming that she would do the same. His robes flapped slightly as a breeze blew across the lake, and inwardly Ernie felt somewhat of a prat for not bothering to change. "Sometimes I hate robes," he pronounced.
Her nose gave a tiny wrinkle and her lips formed a small but playful pout when he mentioned about waiting too long. “Well sorry for disappointing the Macmillan heir, but the common room is a pretty far distance from the lake than the library” protested Megan, crossing her arms the same way as he was. She couldn’t hold her sour expression any longer so it broke into a smile. “At least I’m here right?”
She followed Ernie, walking the same pace as him. “Tell me about it” she responded. “In my first year, I bought robes that were too long for me so I almost kept tripping everywhere” She shuddered just thinking about some embarrassing things that happened in her very first year.
"Well, I could've had a good walk alone," he replied, but he didn't really mean it. Meg just knew how to make him happy, though he would never understand why. Or perhaps he just wouldn't admit it...not after what had happened last time.
Ernie couldn't help but laugh as Meg recounted some of her first year problems. "I remember that! You seemed an awful klutz...I think I offered to hem them once."
A smile curled about his lips as they continued to walk. It had been a very good suggestion...Ernie was glad that she had made it. Sitting in the library wouldn't have been nearly so nice.
