Three albums in heavy rotation this month
Dark Tranquility - Character
This disc hasn't left my car's CD changer for probably three months. Some metal bands with growly vocals are moody and ornate (Opeth), some are silly and sometimes fun, but mostly fluff (In Flames), and some just make you feel like banging your head while grinning from ear to ear (Dark Tranquility). I can't remember the last album that's provided me more fun airdrumming and karaoke time than this one.
Placebo - Meds
It's what you'd expect from a Placebo album - I thnk that if you like what they've done before, you'll probably like this album. I've only listened through twice, but I think it'll make it into the work playlist - maybe I'll have a more detailed reaction after i've given the album some time to digest. The very single-y track Infra-red is a catchy smash-hit-in-waifting. (Maybe it's a smash hit already, I don't really listen to that kind of radio)
