au chomage

waiting for the train at st lazarre to go to argenteuil. don't know what it is but i have the 'tete dans le cul' today. even my nespresso coffee couldn't dislodge it!

so i'm 'au chomage' as they say in french. basically i do nothing. no work. no prospects. this should be the summer of dani. i could be eating cheese the size of a car battery! totally taken from seinfeld.

yesterday i walked around the marais looking cute and not spending a dime. the latter is the harder than the former of course. i'm saving what money i have for the impending sales. who knows, if i'm a good girl i might even be able to afford myself a marni balloon bag. ok that's pushing it, but it's nice to dream!

in the afternoon david stopped by with his pompier colleagues in the fire truck. apparently they had to bring someone to a hospital in paris and they took the extra time to stop by. i have to say it was quite the moment, having 3 beau pompiers stop in front of my building to chat with me..the plus beau being my boyfriend of course. he couldn't get over how pretty i looked and i think was proud to make such an introduction. he later sent me a message saying that he was "enraptured" by my beauty. no joke. the word he used was "subjuguer" which i was impressed with.

i got my haircut the other day. i finally succumbed to the scissors. it was getting out of hand. anyway, i got my bangs recut, just straight across and straight across the bottom. for some reason i think i might have already wrote about this..in that case, i'm repeating myself. oh well.

last night i saw 'la vie des autres'. it's a german film that takes place in 1984 when east germany was under complete surveillance of anyone that could be a collaborator. it was really a great story and well done. i wasn't aware of how it was only a little over 20 years. craziness. the movie was 2.5 hours and in one of the tiny screening rooms...with no air conditioning. big surprise! for about 30 minutes during the film i had to concentrate on mentally cooling myself down so i wouldn't walk out with swamp ass. there is a problem with this country when they don't adopt inventions that could save lives! ie: 10,000 lives in 2003 during the 'canicule.' leakhena and i had a good laugh about that last night-- how in texas for example they reach temperatures that were the same during summer 2003, and they're not droping like flies. haha. so true! i don't even want to get started on it cause it will just make me so angry.

not sure what david and i are gonna end up doing today. tomorrow we're going to lille to visit his family.

so i'm obsessed with my vintage yves saint laurent belt. i've taken inspiration from metea and started pairing it with every dress and shirt. totally works to up the sexy/pretty factor. really. i have to go back to the depot-vente to see if they have any more.
