i love how the 3 weeks i'm home is like an extended christmas. cause whatever i get under the tree on the 25th is just a prelude to a week of extreme generosity on the part of my parents (aka, dani getting spoiled)...

i went to the bike shop in town to see about what i should do, and how i can pack it up to bring it with me. seemed pretty easy enough- i just have to leave it there and they'll disassemble it and pack it up so i can bring it to the airport. then, on the other side, i'll be greeted with open arms, and an empty trunk in david's car to just haul it home. then i went to runner's edge to check out what they had. i actually surprised myself at how excited i got over running clothes. i mean, there were some nike and mizuno pieces that were just awesome. i ended up getting a running shirt for david that was on sale to replace the one that i got at century 21 that i think is too small.

mom and i went to century 21 to return the 2 things i bought for david yesterday since i had a revelation about the scarf-- it doesn't really go with his coat. plus the running shirt and whatever odds and ends i picked up for him this week is more than enough. let's not get nuts here! although, i looovvve giving gifts to boyfriends. even to those who unfortunately didn't deserve it (pierre got that homecore jacket before i got one for myself that was about 140 euros, and juliani was supposed to get that LG jacket that was 80 euros, and we broke up before i could give it to him!).

so i ended up getting a pair of leopard print sheets that were on sale (they go with the leopard print bra that i bought yesterday). i'm not a fan of animal prints in clothes, but when it comes to undergarments and sheets etc, i love it. i think it's so sexy. what boy wouldn't want a girl in a leopard print bed wearing a matching bra??? it doesn't hurt either that i'm that "girl". hehe. i also tried on this amazingly cute miu miu one piece outfit that was reduced from $600 to $89. the concept was awesome and it looked pretty damn good, but at the end i saw that it had this really bad rip that was sloppily repaired. plus my mom was sooo not feeling it. i sometimes hate shopping with her. she freaked out about the watch i got and told me i should return it when i realized the little mechanism to change the date and time didn't work. but, to her dismay, i figured out how to do it and it's soooo a keeper.

i wrapped some of david's gifts and realized that i got some nice stuff for him. and i think it's the little odds and ends that he'll appreciate the most, like the burt's bee's lifeguards choice chapstick (he's an ex-lifeguard too, like me!) and the vermont maple syrup so i can make him pancakes in bed. shit like that. i still want to get him some dog treats for sisco. i think that would make my mark considering he told me that one of the major issues with him and his ex was over the dog and how she thought he cared more for him than her, which is bullshit, but i figure if i want in with him, sisco and i have to be buddies. not a problem.

went out to dinner with my parents and my cousins. it's always good to see the chiarello's cause they're soo nice and i'm thinking of sending them a lil' somethin' somethin' from paris. they kindof hinted about any men in my life, to which charlie asked about the 'african guy' aka juliani and so i had to run through the (abbreviated) list of men since then, without giving too much detail. they seemed pretty interested in david, since my mom had to interject that he's really cute. she happened to see the censored towel-shot, and now the cousins want to get in the email loop of that photo. not happening. although i wouldn't mine showing him off, he might though! oh dear god. anyway, dinner was yummy.

tomorrow i'm visiting georgie in the hospital. i put together a little basket for him which includes some of the things that i was going to send guillaume in senegal. turns out the package would've cost $65..and well..he's not worth it! no, but come on. if leakhena and lamine go then maybe i'll send them with a small package that they can mail there for me. afterwards i think i'll go to sara's and hang out there for a bit.

so i guess i have to mention that today it was record-breaking temperatures. it is sooo bizarre to see kids playing in shorts and a teeshirt and see flip-flops (well, this is america so the flip flop thing is not soo out of the ordinary). but it was like springtime today! amazing..and kindof scary. i keep thinking of those drowing polar bears.

on a side note, i was blatently reminded how ridiculous long island peeps can be. on the way home from century 21 we saw 2 vanity license plates: the first was "cha-ching" on a bmw, and the second was "flthyrich". they're just asking for it...

gonna go watch snl.
