Souffrir
Early in the morn, the sun rises and with it, the land comes to life. The birds of the air, the animals of the earth and the creatures of the sea all come alive. Like stone statues they are before the sun rises but as soon as that light hits their faces the spring to life! It was such a sight to behold after such a journey as mine. I had been traveling all the night long, on a furious flight from my home, driven out by those who have turned against me. The tale is one othat would frighten the strongest of hearts. Many lands have I crossed in my flight. For you see where I was before, I was well liked. Then, all of a sudden, the world around me starts to crumble. Then the great terror swept over the land and brother turned against brother while sister hated sister. I stood up to this great tryanny that insued from the terror and look where it has landed me. Still there are some who are still faithful to me in my homeland. I have come to this far off land to take reffuge and find those who will be willing to help me, those who will not hate me, but who will allow me to love them and love me in return.
Legend has it that in the forest to the west, there is a people who can help me overcome the terror. Great powers are attributed to them while the power to inlfluence nature is something I know that they can teach me. Still, the pain of the past lurks behind me always. I must press on to the forest and find those who will help me in my quest. For my quest was sent to me from the divine above. My task can only be accomplished through inward devotion and prayer. All night I have traveled and there the is the village that I know marks the entrance to the forest where I am headed. I can see it in the valle below me and before me, from the plateau, I can see the forest in all of its majesty now. A dark beauty it is and there will be my home until I am prepared for the task that awaits me. And so, thus, I begin my descent down the hill into the valley to seek some food and to talk with the people before I step onto the path that will decided my destiny.
