Waikiki again today, yaaay!!!!
I spent yesterday being dragged into stores I didn't feel like going to.
"Kah-do-din, come shee, come shee, heah stay look, aaaah kawaii, neh??? Kawaii?? You like, I shtay-buy foah you!"
And it's a giant flower or something really weird that is cute, but I'd never use it...
Then I look at a gift for someone, a little good-luck charm or something, and my grandmother starts complaining:
"Aaah, cay-ah-fool, no moe loom, ash why, no mo loom!"
I'm like.... the thing you showed me was a shirt for 6 year olds... this is a tiny keychain... why is it the things I pick out for me are "too big to bring to NH" but the bigger things you want me to get will be able to fit in my suitcase...?
So I spent the day listening to my grandmother talk endlessly about everything. Except she can't really speak English, so I spent most of the time trying to decide what on earth she's talking about. And she's sharing my room, so I get to sleep on the floor in a blanket. And if I move, she wakes up and asks if I'm ok. Usually waking me up in the asking if I'm alright. And she won't stop asking until I mumble a "Mm-hmm...." and go back to sleep.
She's just like my mom.
And she treats me like I'm 5. This morning she asked if I could swim, even though she knows we have an inground 8 foot deep swimming pool. I bet when we get to Waikiki she'll stick me under a massive umbrella with 95 spf sunscreen and put a barrier around me with signs saying "Boys keep out."
I plan to escape as soon as possible. And wander around with John. As long asI catch the 6 20 bus, I'm fine.
Hawaii is so wonderful :)
It's a beautiful day outside
