Well, second day is over. The director seems to like me a lot, she watched our classes and kept smiling in my general direction, so either she likes me, or there was always someone amazing behind me...
The pilated teacher likes me too, I talked to her this morning and she complimented my dancing, which made me very happy.
The ballet teacher is another story. Today he told me that when one is balencing at the barre in fifth position, it is unheard of to look anywhere other then straight in front of you, directly ahead. ...Is that really a technical correction, or him being an ass...? He's a real jerk like that, 90% of his corrections are just his own personal quirks, like how it's old fashioned to look to the center in a tendu derriere...
So I don't think he likes me. I give it my all, and fix what he says to and give him what he supposidly wants, but it's hard. The exercises he gives are really basic steps, but they change direction frequently and are very awkward. He also gives a lot of useless exercises at the barre, which irritates me. Maybe he senses that...
Whatever it is, I have a feeling that he's not my biggest fan.
The modern class is amazing, but it's really different. I think I need another class to really get the feel of it; his style is a combination hula/cultural dance/modern. It's very different from anything I've done, but quite enjoyable. He's got a company on Oahu, maybe I;ll look into that.
The dancers are really friendly, and the boy dancers are even more friendly. Heheheheh...
I miss you all so much. Hugs and kisses xxx ooo
